Hello,

Just got my interview letter for AOS scheduled for April 5th and started to put all the paperwork together... my question is:

Do I have to still bring a completed medical exam (I-693) to the interview, besides the copy of the DS-3025 of my abroad medical exam I initially sent? I didn't get any RFE according this so I didn't scheduled any CS appointments... My medical exam will expire this week so I would like to avoid any new extra charges related to medical staff.

Did anyone here pass the interview without this new I-693?

Please advise

Thank you

We didn't need a copy of the medical exam.

As far as i remember, they had there the whole package that we sent to the USCIS for the GC application.

You will receive a list of documents to bring (although they only looked at our pictures when we went), but a new medical exam is not on that list...unless things have changed in a yearunsure.gif .

Things should go smooth now.

You passed the initial interview and the USCIS screening.

Don't worry about this interview. You'll be fine!

Thanks for encouragement Aliona!

The problem is that I received the letter and there says to bring with us for the interview "the completed form I 693 (medical form)and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted)"...so the dilemma for me is that I submitted just the medical form 2053 ...not the sealed I 693.... can they still ask for that new form??

My envelope stayed at the POE when i came to the states.

It's the officer who submitted that envelope to the immigrations.

It would be odd if you'd still have your envelope.

Anyway, if it stayed at the POE, than it got to USCIS, that means you're good to go.

I really-really think EVERYTHING will be ok!star_smile.gif

Did you have all of your vaccinations done at the overseas medical? If you did, then you should be fine. If you didn't have all of the required vaccinations then you will definitely need to see a civil surgeon and have them fill out just the vaccination section and, of course, get the required shots.

I don't think you understand what is being asked. The envelope being taken or not taken at the POE isn't the issue. andana_dj has her interview letter, and in the checklist she has been asked to include the vaccination supplement. By the sounds of it, she just sent in the copy of the DS-3025 with her AOS because all her shots were complete, so per the rules she did not need to send the I-693. Her envelope was taken at the POE, so USCIS should have her full medical. What they want to know is do they have to see a CS after all, even though they have already submitted the DS-3025 and USCIS should have her medical. It doesn't make sense that they are asking for it, because if they needed it, they should have RFE'd her for it.

To the OP, I don't really know the answer to your question. but if I was in your position, I would take a copy of your DS-3025, along with a copy of the rules stating why you do not need a I-693, because your shots are marked as complete. Of course, if your shots aren't complete....then I think it's off to the CS you go.

Well I checked my vaccination info over and over and it seems to me that all of them are completed... it says uncomplete, but its because of the second shot of Human Papillomavirus which is no longer required.

Anyway, I scheduled an appointment with a local CS for tomorrow...will see what they say

No. As you entered on a K1 and submitted the DS-3025 and received no RFE's then they have accepted your medical as still valid and your vaccinations complete. And yes, lots of people have passed without needing the 693 (luckily USCIS has noticed how many people have complained about the bogus RFE's and they've seemed to drop off).

The form you received is the standard letter. As you already submitted your medical (for the K1 that you then handed over at the POE) then you have no need for that which is why they're "oh so careful" to include the proviso "(unless already submitted)". Yours was submitted, but as a K1 medical not the I-693.

For safeties sake, if you can, take a copy of everything you have (I have a folder). This way if they ask you have a copy (or original) of anything previous submitted (I even go back as far as EVERYTHING for the K1.. except the chat logs of course which were substantial :P). Also, if at the interview they decide the medical (or I-693) is needed they will give you an RFE (after completing the interview) and then on replying to the RFE they will approve or deny your GC application when they receive the evidence they requested. You shouldn't have a problem though in my opinion as it's very rare to get an RFE at the actual interview (especially for the medical).

I think it's a good thing that you will go see your civil surgeon. If the form you submitted with your AOS from your overseas medical says incomplete for vaccinations then I think you are probably lucky you didn't get an RFE for an I-693. A CS will definitely need to write that a shot isn't needed and sign the form.

Why isn't the second shot needed in your mind? It is because your fiance turned 27 after the medical? That was the same situation my fiance was in.

No, USCIS decided that the HPV shots were no longer required, I believe in November last year. So, if you didn't get the full course, or you haven't even started the course yet, you do not have to.
