It seems that for every successful TV remake (The Office, Battlestar Galactica and, to a certain extent, 90210), there are three or four massive failures (Bionic Woman, Cupid, Melrose Place) that did nothing but offend old fans and new audiences. The lesson here is that some TV classics are better left to rest in peace, with their legacies--and our cherished memories--intact.

But that isn't stopping the TV networks from mining the past for any concept that could cash in on public nostalgia after a quick Hollywood spit and polish: prominent projects currently undergoing resurrection include The Rockford Files on NBC, Charlie's Angels on ABC and Hawaii Five-O in CBS.

Seeing that the remake trend shows no signs of stopping, we asked our Facebook and Twitter users what shows they actually want to see re-made on the small screen. The results were a mixed bag of older classics and more recent flops, and ranged from sitcoms to police dramas to game shows.

 Most of those shows were aired even before I was born. Moreover, there are only three channels that I constantly visit: NatGeo, Animal Planet, and History.com.

I might try to watch if ever any of the ten would have a remake.

The concepts do get rehashed into new shows. Take the Odd Couple, for example...the same concept was used to make Mork and Mindy, and this other show that I can't remember the name, but it had Bronson Pinchet (sp) as the foreign cousin.

Alf was funny as hell. I don't know why the puppeteer didn't take the character and do something with it beyond the show.

Greatest American Hero was one of my favorite when I was in High School, but the show seemed to go in the wrong direction...I kept waiting to see the hero learn more secrets about the suit. And his girlfriend was smoking hot.

I think people's memories of older shows become fonder over the years. There are some shows that I think have stood the test of time. They are still great even now. Some off the top of my head:

1. original Star Trek

2. I Love Lucy

3. Laugh In

4. Bob Newhart (the 70's show where he's a therapist)

5. Hogan's Heroes

6. The Carol Burnett Show

The Avengers was one of my favourite shows.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
