Hello everyone I'm a little confused I'm ready to file the K-1 Fiancee Visa but here on VJ in the example forms area it says that I need to complete 8 forms,

but in the down loads area it says that I need to file 6 forms which is correct. I will be filing in the U.S. of course for my Filipina fiancee. I know I need to check the guides but every embassy is a little different on what they want. For example, in south america they want baptismal records but in the Philippines

it is not required. please help your advise is welcomed. THANX :bonk:

Hey there,

I'm just getting ready to file for my fiance too. As far as forms go, you only have to send in 3 forms with the initial petition: the I-129F and the G-325A (1 for you, and 1 for your fiancee). Here's a link to VJ's Guide and checklist for all the stuff the USC has to send in with the petition:

Can't answer any Philippines specific questions, but the guides are a great place to start to get everything straight: I look at them constantly!

Good luck!

Follow the guide smoahmad pointed you to and use the example forms to guide you in filling out the forms properly.

For the example forms you will need the I-129f, one G-325a for each of you, the cover letter, and letter of intent from both of you.

The example forms I-134 and the three DS forms are needed at the interview in Manila.

Naturalization

3/23/14 - N400 package sent to Phoenix

3/27/14 - N400 package delivered

4/3/14 - NOA1 receipt date

4/4/14 - check cashed

04/29/14 - biometrics date

07/01/14 - interview date

xx/xx/xx - Oath Ceremony

I copied the guide into MS Word on my computer, for the K3 visa. I did that so that I could use the green color of font with the HUGE word "Done" "stamped" onto each completed task. It helped me a lot to keep it all straight.

Green = DONE

Yellow = PENDING

Red = NEED

You are correct, several beneficiaries countries do things differently from other countries (different order, maybe a different form but the basics are the same), BUT the Philippines has nothing to do with the K1 PETITION. The Philippines only get's involved once the petition has been approved so that you can do the Visa stuff. The petition is handled in the US. So for the petition stage everyone does it the same.

Follow the guide posted above to start the K1 process. Once you have submitted the petition and it has been approved, she will receive information from her country with what comes next.

Here's some info from the US Embassy in Manila:

- http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwhniv1.html#Step1 (then click on type of visa to see the K1 stuff)

- http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3204.html -- It's pretty far down the page here

Just look around this site for more info. Maybe someone else can give you more specific links but I hope this gives you a start :D
