Hi there! I just want to say first off that I love this website. I've been reading it every day for a few weeks now and it's been so helpful.

In the coming months, my boyfriend (who will soon be my fiance) will be filing the I-129F for me to move to Michigan. I live in northern Canada (Nunavut) which makes the entire process about 10 times more of a hassle than you can imagine (nowhere to get photos taken, $1500 flight to Montreal, no moving companies, etc) so I plan to move in with my mom in Ontario sometime after my boyfriend receives the NOA2. This way I can travel to Montreal for much, much cheaper and it will be a lot less of a hassle for me.

My question is, will my move be an issue at all when I get to the interview, since the I-129F will reflect my old address and employment status. I know my documents from Montreal will be sent to my old address in Nunavut which I am prepared to deal with, but is it in any way going to impact whether I'm approved or not? I wouldn't think so because I'm not doing anything illegal, but I just wanted to pass this by the membership here in case there is something I don't know.

Thanks in advance! :star:

Okay well it shouldn't be an issue at all.

What will happen, is when you receive packet 3 you will be asked to complete form G325A (P3 was sent via email to me, and i think in most cases). On that form you can put your NEW address which will be your mothers by that stage so that's fine. The reason I wouldn't suggest putting your mothers address on the 129 now, is because if you currently work, it would look strange that you apparently lived VERY far away from your work. This is the G-325A so you can see they ask for work history and accommodation history http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/g-325a.pdf

Page 2 of the I-129F (at the bottom) asks you where the embassy you want is, so make sure you put Montreal. Your interview is AFTER you submit other documents so just make sure your G-325 has your mothers address on it (if that's where you're living).

When you move to the US and apply for AOS you will have to fill in ANOTHER G-325A which includes your US address of course. It doesn't really matter to them where you live in your country, it's just to "keep track" of you as a different person from someone else with a similar name.

Congrats on starting the process!

Thanks so much for the information. That's what I figured, that it doesn't really matter where in my country I live, as long as they know.

I will be much happier once we actually start the process! Unfortunately my divorce has to be final first but that'll come soon enough and I want to know all the details first. :)
