Hi,

Just got my biometrics done. Had a number of problems where the person taking the biometrics said my fingers were too tense -- it did get completed though, all fingers and palms. Is there any likelihood of running into future issues with the biometrics, or if its done, its done. My picture and signature were taken. How soon will I know ?

thanks!

If the fingerprints didn't "take" then you will be notified of a second appointment likely in a few weeks...

As you progress through the immigration process you will need to have subsequent biometrics appointments so this is not the last one even if the results were accepted...

YMMV

Hi! I read from other threads that if the fingerprints are illegible, they'll ask you to come in for a second biometrics appointment. If that comes up illegible too, you may have to get a police clearance certificate.

Too tense?

If there ends up being an issue with the prints (unreadable or otherwise unusable) - they'll send you a notice asking you to retake them. I wouldn't worry about it - just see if it comes up, in all likelihood it will be fine.

I concur with the others. Nothing to get to "tense " about. (sorry for the poor humor).

My fiancee had a problem with her fingerprints at the consulate level and we got a 221g to resubmit them. After resubmitting everyhting was fine. Just delayed us about three weeks in HCMC (and I'm not complaining now because it actually helped us to miss a terrible snow storm here in the North East USA!!!!

Best Wishes

Fingerprints taken at USCIS goes to the FBI for back ground checks. The FBI is very efficient and processes and sends it to USCIS within 3-4 weeks. Once your fingerprints are taken, you can check with the FBI whether your back ground has been checked and your fingerprint report has been sent back to USCIS or not. The FBI does not tell whether the fingerprints were rejected or whether they found anything negative about you.

The FBI can be reached either at 304-625-5590 or at 304-625-2406. They are located in West Virginia and it is the same number for the entire US. If the representative comes to the phone, he/can tell you about your case immediately or no one picks the phone, you may leave the message giving your spelled out name, contact phone number and Alien Number. They are usually prompt in returning phone calls.
