Now HERES a question. So since you have to submit originals with the DS230, should you write case number and info on the BACK of those documents? Id be afraid to mark up the original on the face.

i didnt write our case number on the originals. i put a post it note (with our case number) on all the originals

I have a stupid question here regarding the whole IV Fee Bill,DS-230 package.

I saw my bill generated online, paid the bill, showed as PAID in two days, printed the cover sheet and send in the package to be received this morning at 10:30 AM, all without getting an email from NVC. So now I am wondering if this was the right thing to do, or did I delay my processing myself. It could be that the email ended in my SPAM folders, but the last time it didnt when they sent the AOS andn 3032 emails. I hope I havent done anything stupid and that they accept the forms and documents today.

Anyone else do something like this?

Hmm, it should be okay. Call in 3-4 days and see if they've updated their AVR system.

I paid the bill too without getting the email but it was there in my inbox by the time the payment cleared. Sign into your payment portal just to ensure both bills still show as PAID.

They both do still show as paid. Hope there arent any issues.

Apart from the PCC thing where Hyderabad wont issue a PCC unless they see a letter from the consulate, I think my docs looks good,to me at least.

Hey, I had another question for anyone who knows what happens at the interview.

The NVC site says you have to PREPAY the courier fee at a VFS office before coming to the interview at Chennai.

Also, that there has to be paid an additional $400 fee at the interview.

Here's the link:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

Can anyone confirm these?

Never mind the dumb $400 question, the information was split in two pages. It says, "IF you open the sealed enveloper before reaching the POE, you need to pay the $400 fee again to get another one".

For the interview the only thing you need to pay is Rs.397 to VFS as DHL courier fees.

Okay, it's Tuesday and NVC is open! Let's go, go, go. I want my L-O-G-I-N F-A-I-L!

How're you guys getting through to NVC and more importantly, through to an operator? It's either busy or when I finally get through, I'm on hold for ridiculously long stretches.

Remember that NVC is open until Midnight EST. I don't know what the time difference is for India but I have found better luck calling later in the evening when I get home from work in terms of the hold time not being so bad. Last week I was on hold for 15 minutes to be transferred and my class was starting so I had to hang up. UGH! But when I called in the evening I got through in a minute or two.

hi!

I have another question, if someone can help me...!! :) :) When my husband gets all the paperwork together for the DS-230, do we need a regular photocopy or notarized photocopy of his passport? Or do we need something that is certified by the embassy?? I keep seeing different things regarding the passport! I know certificate of marriage and birth need to be original or certified, but what about the passport?? Thanks!

I called this morning 8:45 EST and got through on the first try. Usually before 10:30am EST I can get through by repeatly calling for usually less than 2 minutes. If I get a busy signal I immediatly call again over and over until I get through. The longest I've waited for an operator was about 8 minutes.

I have 2 questions

when we send these documents..our mailed is shipped but the nvc operator says that it takes them 2 weeks to get through the mail...so although they have received the mail-they have not even put it in the system that they have got it...is that correct?

how long does it take usually for them to process an rfe..I got one and I sent it and they received the mail on Monday...but they said they have not got it...the operator told me that we might have the mail but its not in the system...so how long will this take?

this is the only thing remaining in my case

and note for sachinky-my documents were sent 3 days before yours were and I kept checking your signature to see if you got news..and I wanted to let you know...that monday all my docs were reviewed and settled...so I am guessing in 2-3 days..you'll get a log-in fail.

If I had sent this one thing with my aos package...my case complete would have been on monday...but its all good..I just hope now that I still get a case complete this week
