Can't quit get a handle on these netbooks, key factor is size when traveling. Like the Asus for $300 bucks with a removable battery so you can carry a spare, but the Toshiba runs for over eight hours, seems to be priced fixed because everyone is selling them for $399.99. But even saw a Sony, standard size with a built in CD for 400 bucks. So a tiny netbook if you have to haul around and buy an external CD is far more expensive while being more limited. Acers I have seen have a soldered in battery with only two hours of life, can carry a long extension cord.

So in considering price, what's in the box, accessories required to use the damn thing, battery life, having finger surgery done to decrease the size of my hands really haven't found a netbook that I liked yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Yet another alternative to net access is a cell phone, like a Blackberry or my free LG Banter, but hesitant on signing a close to a thousand buck two year contract just to use the damn thing. And kind of worthless if you get out of range.

Kicking this around for our upcoming two week out of the country trip with a weird suggestion to my wife. How about we take a computer free vacation for a couple of weeks? At one time, we could live without computers and cell phones.
