POE Mexico ?????????

Okay here we go. I had to join today because one of my fiances well intending friends told her information that I believe is not true.

The friend did a K3 (already married) visa in 2009 and they told her that right after the approval they were give the choice of 3 bridges in Juarez to cross to the US and that was the only POE available.

She is wanting to go home and spend a week with her family and I was going to pick her up. We would cross at the Del Rio POE as she lives in Acuna. We have filed for a K-1 not K-3.

Please help clarify.

I don't know Mexico, but it is probably true, you have to bring a package with you and give it to someone when you enter the USA, and I don't think they are going to have those special people at every entry point.

I dont believe this to be true. If you were to fly to the states you would cross no bridge (at least not on foot or in a car). Any Point of Enrty will have customs and immigration officers (USCIS). Not sure if they all have the ability to process K immigration visas, that is an interesting question when considering Mexico and Canada and numerous points of access.

What special people? Customs and Border Protection Officers? That is exactly who mans these posts... They have an office, they have computers, they can do it

Absolutely, si man. Also, Del Rio is one of the BEST-run CBP stations in Texas. In just the last couple of years, they rebuilt their port even farther from the Rio Grande (so that more "border fence" could be put in -- aarrgh), and their new building is spacious and beautiful. Cross from Acuna without fear, si man.

just google juarez k-1 visa poe and you will see plenty of replies on the subject. It is a common confusion among K-1ers that they have to cross there but they don't. It is important for CR-1 ers and IR-1s but if you cross over with a K-1 you can't come back to Mexico and I really don't think you want to have all of your possessions in Cuidad Juarez...
