You make valid points but real information is available from reliable sources. Neither Vermont or California or any Consulate has been reported to request additional copies of a G325a form, in the years I've been around. They've had photocopiers for many years.

Specific requirements of Consulates are also available to those wishing to do only a small amount of research.

I sent one original for each ie petitioner and beneficiary based on the strength of what I was reading on these posts. I believe one will suffice. I've received NOA1 and am in the system awaiting NOA2 - hopefully I won't have any problem but I'm confident given all I've read that 4 aren't required today.

Photocopiers not-withstanding, ORIGINAL signatures are required - are the USCIS copiers able to reproduce original signatures that are acceptable to them?

I'm willing to put in more than a small amount of research regarding the requirements of Consulates but after a LARGE amount of online research as to the particulars of the Costa Rican Consulate I've been unable to ascertain their requirements (I posted questions on this forum that have been unanswered as of now), so FINALLY I decided to send the Consulate an email asking them my questions directly. I'm curious as to the response I'll receive (if any).

Alan

Of course you don't reproduce original signatures. They need one original signature. What sometimes gets lost in the shuffle of PDF downloads is that the original and still available G325a form is a bound form with an original and three carbonless copies. Using the actual form only produced on original signature. After many years, they have finally updated the PDF file to have a single page. Their processes have changed so that only one original and no copies are now needed.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Yes - the new form has 1 page.

However, several calls to USCIS gave conflicting answers (they want 1, they want 4 - even with the new form) - and no one posted a success with just sending in one form.

I only sent in one form and the petition was approved. :D

Yes. I copy of the G-325A as the new version is only one page and the previous was four.

ALSO, the previous form stated you needed to submit all four copies, yet the new form had this information removed. I also double and triple checked all instructions and there is no reference to four copies anymore so one copy it is :) Plus I honestly don't think you'll get an RFE for only including one copy, they can photocopy it or on the interview instructions ask me to bring more copies. An RFE is "request for further EVIDENCE" and you've already submitted one copy as EVIDENCE so yeah.. that's what i think anyway

What me and Chris did was to fill in one original, with original signature. I attached my picture in a bag to a sheet on which I had photocopied my passport. From reading all these posts I am both worried that we will get an RFE, but now I realize that the people that did get an RFE filled their papers in 2004. Hopefully, now that they only ask for 1, they will be smart enough to just throw our other copies out, with or without original signature...
