Ok guy. Before I begin I just want to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance. My fiancee interview date is December 30 and as each day approaches, Im becoming a nervous wreck. On the petition form I put that me and my fiancee met in Diera, Dubai.We met through a friend. Is that a good way to answer that question if it is asked. Im getting scared because I saw a couple a cases being denied because one was introduced through a friend. Im so scared. What is the best thing to say? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm sure you wrote an explanation of how you met when you submitted the I-129F. Don't make it any different than that. The CO might check the consistency of your statements.

Whatever you do, be consistent. Don't say one thing on the I-129 and then your fiance say another at the interview. In general, its best not to involve other people in the visa process. Once you bring other people in the US consulate may have reason to investigate further based on their dealings with that other person. Its always a disappointment to have a visa delay, but I want to point out that there are women here that were introduced through a "friend" and it turn out that the spouse was a scammer and the friend knew. Having this kind of extra examination might be to your benefit in the end.

Guys,

I don't think the Nigerian terror incident will affect immigrant visa processing out of Lagos especially considering the circumstances surrounding the incident. First of all, I am so happy that the plot failed and no one was injured. Secondly, it's very evident that from the way the entire story has been presented on the media that the U.S. doesn't see Nigeria as a country that harbors terrorists. Not even the boy's family supported him. Infact, the father preemptively went to the U.S. embassy to warn of the boy's extremist views months before this incident. It's clear that this is just an isolated incident.

The only effect I think this will have is that... you better be ready to strip down naked for security checks if you are flying from Nigeria to the U.S.
