Had my interview and passed all questions. The officer stated that I have passed and that I should be hearing from them by letter in a few days. It has already been thee weeks and have still not received a letter from USCIS. What could be the problem? When I search online on the USCIS page, it informs me that they require few documents before a final decision can be made. During interview the officer did not ask or request any documents, as I had all in my hand whilst in his office. I am getting worried. DID someone experience this problem ????

Request an infopass with USCIS- if they are stating they need more documents, you may of missed the RFE -

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

RFE - Request for (further) Evidence

AT INTERVIEW THE OFFICER INFORMED ME THAT I HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL AS I HAD ANSWERED ALL THE QUESTIONS HE HAD ASKED. AFTER CONGRATULATING ME HE SAID THAT I WILL HEAR FROM THEM WITHIN FEW DAYS FOR MY OATH. ON THEIR USCIS PAGE THEY STATE THAT THEY REQUIRE FURTHER EVIDENCE, WHICH WAS NEVER REQUESTED DURING INTERVIEW AS I HAD MY FILE WITH ME AT INTERVIEW. I AM WORRIED...WHAT ELSE CAN THEY ASK FOR ???

No need to be worried. It's just one of those unfortunate delays. Make an infopass appointment (after the holy days) and get it sorted out.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Unlike the removal of conditions, really don't have to be concerned that you can get deported, but with USC, USCIS does have a 120 limit to notify you of your oath ceremony. Would have actually preferred a 90 day limit on processing your removal of conditions.

While there is but one USCIS, seems like the service centers and the 80 some odd field offices have plenty of leeway to do whatever they want to do, even requesting evidence that is not published and certainly a bad joke with the oath ceremony. It's all up to the field manager, shouldn't be that way, but is.

Wife had to take an oath in person, read the oath ceremony aloud and sign it before her IO, but still the oath ceremony long afterwards that was only a lip syncing affair, didn't seem right to me, still doesn't. A lot of extra expense for us just to get that piece of paper.

Hi Rodeoman,

Sorry to hear about your situation about not getting the oath date, despite passing the interview awhile ago.

Could it also be that your particular local office is busy, and are overall scheduling oaths later than usual, despite anyone's circumstances?

Unfortunately, there isn't much else to do now, other than to wait it out.

You can also try going to an infopass appointment, which could be more of help to you there too to further inquire about your case from the USCIS.

As well, if it takes too much longer, then you can also try contacting other politicians (congressman, senator, ombudsman, etc.)

Hope the wait isn't too much longer for you. You're almost there at the end of you journey. Good luck for you getting your oath soon too.

Congratulations on your oath ceremony date.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
