Excellent - what is your specialty in?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Gotta say, I was a very lucky clean face teenager. Have the occasional pimple till these days, but always had a nice facial skin.

I was forced into Bishophood as a teenager because of my zitfarm...which caused chicks to not dig me...hence my celibancy was a natural outcome :rofl

Len - thank you so much for this. Does he work out of your University? I will seriously consider looking up this guy, especially if he has a volume of works that I can add to my body of research. As you know, I'm currently authoring a book of comparative theology between Buddhist and Christianity (mainly Catholicism sect of Christianity)...cuz I want to be a University Professor if I live long enough to retire. I have no issues finding credible Christian profs/researchers to use a sounding boards during my research, but I need a stronger/larger set of voices on the Buddhist side to help critcize my work's objectivity and accuracy. I'll definitely look up this man.

Yes, he is one of our resident full-tenured nerds. You should. Rich is not only a top world known scholar, but an adorable guy. His wife used to teach Bangla and also studied Women in Islam; until she was killed in a tragic bike accident last year :( --he is a fantastic source of knowledge this one. And I have adopted him since Carol died.

The other prof I told you about, Heidi Pauwels, is kind of a diva. Good on her work, but mega snotty.

Thank you HermanunNagi. In fact, this is the correct answer. I read something interesting in Thomas Merton's famous book 'The Seven Storey Mountain." In that book, which is his autobiography of his early struggles with Christianity and eventually becoming a Priest, he talks about how he is on campus at his universities drinking beers and being all intellectual and philosophical (...like all collegiate kids do...) and one of his buddies asked him if he wanted to become a Priest and Thomas replied, "beats me" or something to the effect. His Friend replied, "Thats good. Because the goal shouldn't be to become a Priest, but rather to become a Saint."

That always struck me as extremely profound. In fact, according to Mr. Vatican, I cannot become a Priest...but they can't really stop me from becoming a Saint, ordained or not. Of course, I'm no where near that level...its not my talent...but...it is still a very interesting concept...one that profoundly struck me.

I hadz a quizzative 'bout dat!

Well...that is enough of my rambling for this day :star: I'm going into overkill with you commies
