same here staashi  when we were doing the "daniel fast" which was basically vegan in my book, all i could think of was milk, butter, and of course meat. funny part, i don't even drink milk, except for cereal or hot chocolate  but since i was trying not to have it, it definitely became a focus

Fasting is a way to 'detach ourselves from our self'...in this manner it is a proven way to empty one's self and thus open up a space which is void of bodily concerns, and in which the Spirit will naturally dwell. This is why I fast.

However, in my first few years of attempted fasts...it was more for my own curiosity and interest...only after years of fastings efforts did it yeild any value...spiritually speaking.

Peace!

This is why we have a Bishop. :star:

My husband is now going to Home Depot to pick up pavers to try and keep the dog in the yard, sheezz what a day so far!

Funny story before I have to get ready to leave here....

The next day after my husband arrived in the US, we went out in the backyard. There is the neighbours tree up against our back fence and in the tree was a squirrel. My husband looked at the squirrel and asked me, " Is this the neighbour's pet? ". He had never seen a squirrel before.

LOL, no. I just explained to him what squirrels are. That was a good one, though.

Morning commies :star:

I just got done eating my 2 bowls of corn flakes and reading all of the posts I missed from last night, whoa.

Bishop ~ we don't eat any meat on Fridays during lent, so my grandma calls me up and makes sure we eat fish or something else. I just order pizza, its the easy way out. I get onions & peppers, Luis gets mushrooms, the kids get plain. It's almost a tradition now in the family, rather than religious at this point.

Nagi & K ~ I have something for you... baked lay's chips. They are so good and they won't clog your arteries. I get them from the vending machine at work usually. I like BBQ, Sour Cream & Onion and this new one it's Southwestern Ranch or something like that.

:)

You should have shown him the clip from the Chevy Chase movie 'Christmas Vacation'...the part where the squirrel scare the crappola outta all of them! Then he would have been skird of squirrels for the rest of his life!
