He started that whole biting in feet, ankles, hands and thighs again

I am having this issue , myself. I do not use the water bottle, but a firm NO. The difference between mine and your is....yours is still a young pup who is going through the critical socialization, growing period, and puppyhood. Mine NEVER had that chance so now that he is comfy with his new surroundings, he is going through all these stages at 18 months.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Mine as well. He is approx. 18 months now, lived in a backyard with no contact to people and had rarely contact through the fence to other dogs. Outside the house he behaves really well, waiting for me to tell him what is allowed and what not. Inside the house he's falling back into the old behavior. No doesn't work, he ignores it since he thought for the longest time that NO is his name, he never heard anything else before. When he starts biting I tell him No and then try to distract him by asking for a toy. If that doesn't work and he's not listening at all then I spray him after a loud and firm No or let something drop so he snaps out of it (I usually have a piece of chain in my pocket). If he comes to me with a toy then I drop everything I do and play with him, that way he realizes how to tell me that he wants to play.

I have to give him treats to chew on all day, his teeth are really in a bad shape and with chewing they seem to go in their places now. When I first met him all he had to play with was a ball (hard plastic and way to big) and a plastic baseball bat.

I thought yours was still a little puppy. My apologies. Mine did not have any toys and still doesn't play with the ones he has here...he just doesn't know what to do with them. Mine came from a filthy pen with feces as high as an elephant's eye and no clean place for him to stand. I am sure once he was weaned, that is where he ended up...in that filthy pen, no other dogs or humans to interact with. He was given a raw chicken leg a day, maybe when the owner felt like feeding him, who knows. He was starving when met him for the first time. He had scabs all over from the constant flys biting him. He has hair feet because he was never taken out of the pen, and still is very low in the hocks. He was so wobbly in his rear legs that he was tripping over himself when he walked.

Now, he doesn't trip over himself, but is still low in the hocks and the hair feet will always be. I'd say he has put on about 30 pounds but the main problem is he is very skiddish towards strangers. My gosh, he didn't know what people were. I might be able to work that out of him but it may take a year or more.

Morning Commies!

I slept tons and felt better when I woke up, but I've been awake about 1.5hrs and want to sleep again :dead: Two tests this morning. Then watching movies and working on the paper this afternoon.

Suzy - Hope the ####### thing goes well.

5 - I'm going to buy another slush on my way home. What flavor would you like?

Len - I like what K said to say. I was going to say something like that too. I think she will understand. Why can't Bren tell her?

I'm watching Christmas Vacation instead. I (L) this movie!

This is the best Christmas movie! I love it when Sparky asks his dad how he made it through all those Christmas's...and his dad replies, "I had a lot of help from Jack Daniels!" I watched it last night too...

I also really like 'Elf' with Will Farrell...that is a great/funny Christmas movie also. :luv:

Oh ya...Good Morning Commies, and BishoplyBlessings to your day!

I like cousin Eddie!

Really like Elf too. Love his food combos. Pasta with candy.

PS. It's raining now but supposed to snow later

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

What I don't get... is how someone could stay in a house infested with cockroaches and flies everywhere without doing something to try and kill them.

Since the homes in Peru usually have a common open area, the house is exposed to the outside air (it never rains or snows and the temperature is always good, so it's pretty much okay) HOWEVER, flies do get in. But Luis' mom sits there with a fly swatter chasing them around until she catches them all. It's actually pretty funny to watch. I learned a pretty cool way to kill fruit flies there. You put a bowl of warm water with soap suds in it and apple cider vinegar. The flies just kinda fly in and commit suicide. It's awesome.

All I have to say is that she had better know that man like she thinks she does or she'll be crying for :help:

Authority. Like that dry food, got the same ingredients as any premium brand and is cheaper. Sometimes I mix in some boiled egg, plain yogurt or tuna. I started trying out what veggies and fruit he likes. So far he likes carrots.

I would try to give the snapper some plain yogurt to strengthen the bones and maybe the vet has some glucosamine powder (my friend gave that to her greyhound, helped a lot with the bone issues)

POTATO CHIPS? too much salt, just causes kidney problems.

Thanks Bishop, Chrito, Nagi, Amby & K :)

It's just an ultrasound so we'll see what happens. Hopefully no big deal. I got the big ultrasound on Fri to see if I'm having a boy or a girl I'm ready to find out already.

Nagi ~ Chips for the snapper? Awesome. :star: I used to give my dog cheez doodles when I was little.
