White House fails to secure State dinner from intruders

It's one thing to get past the security of the Rolling Stones on tour but this couple not only waltz

into an Obama State dinner affair, they were actually greeted by the Smiling President in the receiving line.

It's funny to imagine but also a bit scary to think what could have happened, had our sworn enemies pulled the same stunt..... not only gain access to the President but be close enough to kill or injure him with the simplest of objects.

WASHINGTON (AP) - A White House official says the Virginia couple who attended a state dinner without an invitation met President Barack Obama in the receiving line.

Michaele and Tareq Salahi were admitted into Tuesday's dinner for India's visiting prime minister although they were not on the official guest list of more than 300 people. It had been unclear how close they may have gotten to Obama.

A White House official said Friday that the couple met Obama in the receiving line.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of an ongoing Secret Service investigation into how the couple slipped through its usually tight security.

The Secret Service is taking full responsibility for allowing the couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi into the state dinner. These folks seem to be following in the footsteps of the Balloon Boy parents.

I think an interesting note that I saw in between the lines is the HOW of how they got in.

It appears they were dressed appropriately and announced their full correct names,

accompanied by a film crew that was assisting them in their bid for a reality show spot.

When they got past the first checkpoint, those guys assumed they would be checked

by the next one (and vice versa).

I guess they figured uh...producer...and...actress wife.

To be politically correct you have to assume also that SHE was the producer.
