playing the last waltz discs tonight. great stuff, with lots of talent. kids these days just don't know what they're missing. they're driving dixie down as i type, and it makes me feel young again.

of course, i'm not. the MRI says i have a 60 year old back in a 45 year old body. the young wife kills me on the dance floor. the spaghetti in my head can't find the keys. the gout in my feet tells me when it's gonna rain. the eyes are no good up close, but the trigger finger ain't give out yet.

i got that ####### bull squirrel that was stealing my walnuts from the driveway and stashing them up in his nest in the attic above my bedroom. he never knew what hit him. i hope it's that easy for us on the way out. in the meantime, who do you love? i'm a mannish boy, and everything gonna be alright.
