due to some of the questions floating around, I thought i would mention,

when we returned the IMBRA RFE, we got the standard " as preliminary processing was already completed.....etc" I took this to mean that all other aspects of the petition had been ok'd.

It seems that preliminary processing means just that, take the cheque, cash it, check that all forms are there , put it on the desk. It appears that adjucation(sp?) does not begin until that IMBRA RFE is processed. We received notice of the 2nd RFE ( not IMBRA related) two weeks later.

This may shed some light for some with what is going on with all the touching, waiting etc after the Imbra RFE...

That´s most likely for cases just received at VSC. Some cases were already into processing, pertaining security checks, etc.

I don´t know if there´s any difference on recalled, pending and new cases at this point. Once they are (re)opened it will take aprox. 3 weeks in Vermont to be approved..

My guess?

3 weeks in Vermont to be approved = 3 months in California to be approved

:(

Actually, preliminary processing for cases that arrived at CSC/NSC/TSC in March certainly should mean that adjudication was FINISHED before they sent the RFE - since it took them months to actually develop that ridiculous form with no checkboxes to indicate NO as an answer!!! Then again, it apparently takes them quite a bit of time to put that returned RFE information into their very complex computer system and turn that into an approval hence my 3 month guesstimate.

I'm glad I am not the only one that thought that IMBRA REF was a freakin' joke. I circled all the checkboxes with one circle and wrote N/A next to it. Can't believe no one thought, "What do people mark if they aren't a 'bad' person?" Wonder how many will not write in anything and send it back...

They probably think as we do.. but it´s a law and they do need to ask the petitioner..

Still, I don´t know how they are processing the cases right now, but it´s definitely slower than I thought it would be.

No recalled cases approved from vermont. That´s very frustrating.

Regarding this IMBRA RFE -- Is it like a form and what do they ask? I am assuming that you filled it out and send it back to them. Why can that "form" be part of the initial package that you sent to the CSC?
