Good Morning.

Annie, i hope you and the babies feel better.

Yesterday, i decided to go the DMV on my lunch hour, i need to renew my license. I was going to take my chances and hopefully get everything done in an hour. I walked inside pulled my # and it was 45, i looked at the screen and they were on 18  . Well since i was there, i will wait it out. I have never in my life seen such slow workers. It was ridiculous! So as I'm sitting, the clock was ticking and I was already approaching to the end of my one hour but then they formed a special line for quick services which cleared out half. Ok, maybe this can be done. They were on #43, great 2 more to go and I have 10 minutes left, so what if i'm a little late returning to work. Just as I was getting my hopes up about a half dozen people walked in with return passes :angry: I felt like shooting them  I did not want to get up and leave, i sat here already now for an hour and 15 min, and then finally my # was called, I managed to get my license renewed after two hours of waiting.

Good morning!

Maureen, try going to the Taylor office. They can't get much slower there.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I had an experience with DMV when I went to get my married name put on my license. I had my marriage license that was authenticated by the US government(translated by an embassey approved translator, stamped and everything). They told me that I must have it translated by one of THEIR approved translators. After a little discussion, I agreed and they gave me the translator list. Well guess what! They don't have any translators that translate arabic, only spanish! Sooo I went back to the DMV and was told I could not change my name until this was complete. Now how can I complete it????I asked for a supervisor and she said the same thing, so I asked for HER supervisor. She called the state office and guess what, since it was stamped by the US Gov., then it is OK and they could change it. ( I can laugh about it now)

I hear ya, same thing happened a couple of years back when I changed my last name as well. I had the original certificate (English Certificate) and they at first wasn't going to accept it. They wanted the license. Well in Jordan, we were never issued a license just the certificate. The rep had to call her supervisor and she wasn't going to accept it either, they were looking through all their books to check it out and still wasn't going to issue it ( they were insisting on a license). I said get me your supervisor, i'm not leaving. Well she took our documents and faxed them to Lansing and then I had to take a seat and wait some more, I got called back up and was told, sorry for the trouble but your document is acceptable. What a pain in the A$$ it was. It's funny that i am able to laugh about it now but back then I was fuming. Don't you just love the DMV :P

Afternoon everyone! A beautiful day here. To be in the high 70's!

Hope you're having a good day. I think everyone in the world has had

some kind of "ohhh I dread going to the DMV day!" Maybe the peeps who

work there also have days....ummm no don't think so!

Our "Days at the DMV" included one of the workers telling Wael that

he would have to make sure that this "foreign document" Wael had given

him was genuine.....duhhhhhh it was his green card!! Would you believe

he actually called another worker "his supervisor" to examine his GC.

Wael calmy told the fellow that his GC was issued by the United States

and to his knowledge it wasn't considered a "foreign document!

I still remember the look on that fellows face trying and trying to find something

wrong. Finally they gave up and gave Wael his Arizona license!!!

Hollywood sure misses out on some great material!!

Take care and stay safe especially if you're headin' to the DMV!
