I have been addicted to the Sims games for nearly 20 years. I collected over 6,000 custom downloads for Sims 2, and my Sims 3 collection is already hovering around 2,600 items and I spoil my Simmie mercilessly lol. World Adventures is scheduled to go on sale Monday. Am I alone in my obsession with this virtual world  ?

Come. Dish. :star:

Oh, honey, yes! No more loading from place to place. It's as smooth as silk. I miss the Sims getting in the cars to drive away, but they still drive and you can follow them around. The graphics are better, the Sims more realistic, and you can recolr items to match so your decor is more customizable. In December, EA is offering a free program that will let you design your own towns. I can't wait for that!

I really tried to play The Sims correctly. That lasted about 30 minutes, after which I began hurting, maiming and killing each family in the neighborhood. It was fun to see HOW you could do it, too.

I think The Sims might have the greatest potential for cruelty out of any video game. I mean... where else can you starve, electrocute, drown, and set characters on fire? Bricking Sims up was fun as well. After a while, they'd start pissing and crapping themselves and eventually die.

Has any Maxis Sim game ever been about playing the game the "right way?" I remember playing SimEarth and causing disaster after disaster, not the least of which was spinning Earth off its axis and making the planet burn or ice up. In SimCity 2000, I built a city surrounded by mountains and then created a storm for the sole purpose of flooding the entire town.

Yes, I am a cruel god.

I haven't played Sims 3, but the review I read was hilarious.

The reviewer created a character with a ridiculous Cyrano De Bergerac nose and then tried to see how many women in the neighborhood his character could have sex with so that he could pass on the ridiculous nose to his offspring.

I use to be a HUGE Sims geek...but then discovered Second Life...which is very much like Sims, but with real people behind all the avatars.

Wow, have the Sims come a long way or what? About 5 years ago the Sims was my guilty pleasure. Who would have thought they would come so far?

There are some cheats that will do some of those things, Nessa, but another way to do it is to accumulate lifetime rewards that can be exchanged for skills that will keep them from having to pee alot or eat much. It's pretty easy to get those quickly, I've found.

I had a new pc built because the World Adventure is going to take more power and graphics than what I'm using now. It will also incorporate gaming attributes like fighting and physical skill building. I can't wait until Monday!
