Steele: Some white Republicans are scared of me

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said Sunday that he has been in rooms with white Republicans who are “scared” of him.

Responding during a interview to TV One’s Roland Martin, who said that “white Republicans have been scared of black folks,” Steele replied: “You’re absolutely right.”

“I’ve been in the room and they’ve been scared of me,” said Steele, the first African-American RNC chairman. “I’m like, ‘I’m on your side.’”

Bcz I would vote republican over democrat nearly everytime now. They just make more sense.

I would still be voting republican if the candidate is black,brown, olive, or whatever regardless if there were a white democrat running.

So, regardless of whatever policy is being put forward at any election you will vote republican because republicans make more sense? The electorate get the politicians they deserve if this is an example of the average American's voting methodology.

Good point - I can't do with all these template voters and template politicians (parties)

I want to be honest about it and say I am going to vote for X because they are pro A B C even though they are against DEF which I also support - a la carte voting, best of a bad bunch.. Actually there seems to be more candidates like that in the US rather than the UK. Of course once they get in they vote the ME party to try and perpetuate themselves

I reckon parties will get much looser in the age of choice - stronger but looser and morphing all the time - smoke and mirrors... keeping em accountable will be even harder

Apparently so do quite a lot of affluent white liberal Dems. Why else do they live gated communities filled with only white people, work in places that are lilly white, and live in liberal leaning states that are mostly white? The NE and NW USA is a perfect example. They think liberal, but don't live it.
