Either it means if you have the hen you can have it lay eggs everyday or someone in a fortune factory is bored and wants to make you wonder.

I think it means that one egg not fertilized is no good. That if it was fertilized it would take the natural processing time to hatch and then the chicken would have to mature before it could reproduce further eggs. There is also the possibility that the fertilized egg my produce something other than a hen and/or a rooster. Therefore, it is better to have a fully mature chicken on the second day that is capable of reproduction. It's a sure thing.

This could also be looked at another way. One egg is a small portion to consume so if you had the choice between one egg today or a hen tomorrow then you are more likely to go without the egg for a day to get the large portion of protein the following day.

It addressed what holds more value.

When I read it I felt it's about having patience. getting a egg today you cook and eat it and it's done, but if you wait tomorrow for a hen you will be able to get more eggs in the future if u have a little patience...

It means you shouldn't abort embryo's by consumption.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

You should buy a chicken.

Why buy the chicken when you can get her to a lay for free?

Kind of like, give a guy a fish, feed him for a day, teach him how to fish, feed him for life.

Eat that egg today, nothing for tomorrow, with a hen, can eat an egg almost everyday, until she dies, than can eat her, then starve to death. Better also get a rooster with that hen.
