Can someone explain this bible verse to me?

Do you agree with this statement: Nobody has ever heard from God vocally. If you have heard God speak to you then you should probably seek mental help.

So why should anyone believe the Old (or New) Testament to be so Holy?

Means figuratively "they can breed easily as a donkey, and they produce young as strong as horses"

Means "you brought up again reminders of how lewd you were then, when the Egyptians massaged your breasts/nipples"

you have to take the whole chapter to understand what is going on. it is a symbolization of God's people going after other gods. kind of like a parable. i am not a theologian, and it is a very deep meaning.

Bible is just words, there is no comparison to reading about love in a novel to experiencing real love for yourself. Or even reading about dropping a ball from the Leaning Tower of Pizza with the dull equations or dropping that ball for yourself and making your own measurements.

One of the greatest sins in the bible is blasphemy, when I go to an organized religion or hear people say, God this or God that, I consider that blasphemous.

You will never get a response in a million years. I was brought up a Christian and not even one of my prayers was ever answered! I used to talk to myself (inside my head) every night for 2 or so minutes (commonly referred to as praying) but stopped that probably over 10 years ago.

That would be great proof of God's existence if He actually answered prayers.

Now I'm not sure what kind of silliness they believed back in the year 1AD. 100AD. 200AD. 500AD. 1000AD. But I can tell you that man thought the world was flat in 1500AD (just 500 years ago). Now think about that. They had great big ships and used to sail around but they thought if you sailed too far you would fall off of the earth. As if you could approach the edge and actually see it if you got close enough. Now if they had these ships why were they so petrified of trying to sail around the world? Couldn't they just turn their ship as soon as they located the edge?

And this was 1500AD. I can't imagine what kind of stupidity man thought was true back in 1000. Back in 500. Back in 1AD.

Perhaps a question of size, we can feel very big compared to subatomic particles, but feel infinitesimal when viewing our universe. And while we may conceive our universe as being extremely huge, it could also be subatomic particles composing just a small part of a pimple on some large aliens butt. One thing really large about us, is our egos.

Our universe is just to complex to be an accident, can't buy that, and extremely well engineered, so have to believe if not a God, a Creator, maybe not one creator, but a large group of them. We are certainly not responsible for the creation of anything, in particular our bodies, again, extremely well engineered. Just can't believe that was an accident. Try designing a three layer chip with over two million transistors where everyone of them serves a purpose and if just one goes bad, the entire chip is worthless. But that is nothing compared to the universe and even the earth we live in and on. Just too complicated and very well thought out to be an accident.

I was pondering that myself the other day. Our knowledge of the universe is limited. As is our knowledge of the human body alone, not to mention disease. Yet somehow we are expected to believe that chance created us. That mutations lead to something as complicated as a human being. That chance also lead to such a unique and beautiful world. It's really the equivalent of someone saying they won the lottery in every country, for one billion years straight. Sure it could happen but it's ridiculously implausible. As you said, one single thing goes wrong with a single transistor out of millions and it's dead. Yet we are expected to believe that by chance this and that happened. Furthermore, considering the sheer beauty of the world and humans, that somehow everything corrected itself. Ensuring the t's were crossed and the i's were dotted per say.

I think where a lot of people get confused is with the unknown or better yet with the notion of evolution. People assume that since the bible, for example, does not discuss it, they must be mutually isolated from one another. Personally, I don't think so. If you realistically stop and think of the intelligence of God as we call him, though he's not a human, it's not that had to assume that God would be infinitely intelligent. As such, could have easily have concocted evolution. Yet, God was the missing link. A superior being explains the perfection of the world.
