Oh.... and Guess What!? I wanted to color my hair a dark brown burgandy color by Herbal Essence. My mom helped me last night... I didnt blow dry it last night I let it air dry as I slept. Lets just say that Im freaked out now! That is NOT the color I thought it was going to be. and for some strange reason my roots are a BRIGHT reddish color while the rest of my hair is a dark brown reddish color. I will have to wait until monday to recolor it I suppose bcz theres no way im going to work on Thursday like this!!!

What color is your natural? Is the color you picked lighter or darker than your natural color? Usually, when going darker, this happens because the part that took darker is more porous than the roots. When you recolor it you will want to put it only on the roots. Then if the ends need more color you put it on after the roots have reached the color of the rest of the hair and let it process until it reaches the color you want.

A great way to test it is to wet a cotton ball and wipe the color off of a small section of your hair. take a dry towel to remove as much of the moisture as possible. fan the strand out and look at the color under a good light. When it reaches the right color you can wash it all off.
