The only reply I have gotten is an automatic reply when I sent in the AOS stuff. Will have my hubby call in today and talk to a supervisor (he seems to get thru much faster than me when calling from Canada) and if that doesn't work, I will send in the inquiry email.

Thanks again for your help Darnell - really appreciate it!

kaya541 - really? please review yer email, the sent mail folder - double check the addresses that you used, for 'sending to'.

could you let us know what address NVC used when making that auto reply? (NVCInquiry, NVCMontreal, NVCElectronic, NVCSomething Else)

Thanks !

The email address NVC is using when replying is: nvcelectronic@state.gov

I'm starting to get pretty confused about which email to send stuff to, but my hubby talked to a supervisor yesterday at the NVC and they told him which one to send the DS-3032 to. We had to resend that and I will be re-sending the I-864 info as well because they never got either of them. We had sent the OPTIN to NVCelectronic@state.gov with the DS-3032 attached (no reply rec'd - I think they registered the OPTIN but not the DS 3032 because they had already corrected his email addr before we called on it) and sent the I-864 to nvcmontreal@state.gov (I did get a reply email on that but the supervisor yesterday said they hadn't received it on the file yet).

I just POEed and did the electronic processing.

My total time was 7 months from sending of the I-130.

It would have been shorter except that we had some life stuff between the NOA2 and when we actually submitted stuff to NVC. We got the NOA2 on Sept 21 and we did not actually submit to NVC until Nov 21.

I would recommend it to any one who can do it.

We submitted the I-184 and the DS-230 at the same time - it was over Thanksgiving so it took 12 business days in stead of the usual 10.

From my experience they were really good about their turn around times - at least within a few days.

Darnell - if you need any other feedback from me for the Wiki - just ask. The only thing that I did different was I scanned my pictures in black and white and they were accepted.

Yup...my time between initial filing of the I-130 and my actual POE was a few days shy of seven months as well. I can't recommend EP highly enough, even though I'm a tad concerned about some of the overhaul of the process they seem to be doing...

Can we get absolute clarity here !! So the OPTIN and DS3032 goes to nvcelectronic@state.gov but the I 864, DS230 and all supporting documents are sent to nvcmontreal@state.gov ??? Is that correct??

I know they are changing things and we are just heading into NVC...

no - it all goes to NVCElectronic@state.gov

but hei - chose yer consulate - and read the PDF file, please?

http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4411.html

For Montreal - this changed up on 1/21/10

I'm convinced there's been a slowdown or hiccup these last 3 weeks - as ALL EP cases have SLOWED DOWN at NVC.

I strongly suggest you send in inquiry email to NVCElectronic@state.gov -

include the case # , your name, the beneficiary's name, both DOBs,

and inquire about case status.

This is NOT NORMAL, compared to prior months. Somethings wonky.

Yeah...I'm with Darnell on that one. It really looks like they're giving EP a spring cleaning / overhaul right now...for Montreal, at least. I hope it doesn't affect current EPers too badly. Maybe this overhaul will signify some more clarity in initial instructions. I still think EP is the better way to go, though.

Is it still necessary to speak to an NVC operator to give him/her our emails or it's enough just send in the OPTIN email with all the information required?

Is it because calling and giving the email over the phone will make the AOS bill arrive faster?

Musi - it IS possible to handle NVC EP without having the AOS Fee Bill via email -

you have to know how to log in to the online payment portal, and that, in itself, is easy.

But - I suggest someone call in , because the NVC Tele-Operator will 'queue up' that AOS fee bill in the system.

IMO, it's better to let them (repeat THEM) push that one thing, for ya.

Good Luck !

So after talking to a supervisor, we sent in the OPTIN and DS-3032 again, together and seperately (total of 2 additional emails) and within 24 hours received 3 responses from the NVC approving all our emails including the one sent on 3/9. The only one I'm not sure they have rec'd/approved is the I-864 stuff, but I will check on that early next week. And the IV bill has now been invoiced to pay. It seems our phone call to a supervisor worked!
