We have just started the Electronic Process. We sent in the OPTIN email on 3/9 with the Choice of Agent scanned and attached. And I called in last night and gave them our email addressess over the phone. The operator said the packet had been sent via the regular mail.

How do I get into the payment portal to pay the first bill? Or do I wait for the packet to arrive first? I was noticing someone earlier said they paid it the same day they did the OPTIN email?

You will receive an e-mail that has the invoice for AOS and the link for the payment portal is provided in the document, you will log in using your case number and invoice ID number. The e-mail takes a couple of days to arrive to you!

I also have done the EP and have had very little problems. Has worked well for us so far! I do have a question...my husband has all the info I feel he needs for his interview April 27th. However, reading through some reviews I notice that some were asked for financial info. I know that includes tax returns etc. but has anyone been asked for paystubs? In the financial info I have for my husband to show is 2008/2009 tax returns and a letter from my employer and of course the AOS forms we submitted electronically. I was just curious if they require current paystubs?? Was anyone required to show this? Thanks.

Forgive me for asking a question that I'm sure I could find the answer to if I searched long enough...

According to the USCIS site our I-130 has been approved. DO I wait for the hard copy of the NOA2 and then call the NVC to optin for electronic processing? Do I wait for the package to come from the NVC? I'm a little confused as to the whole timing thing...I don't want to get ahead of myself (or the NVC).

Thanks

You need to call the NVC automated line until you hear that they have assigned you a case number, as soon as It says they have assigned you a nvc case number, talk to a operater and give them your email addresses. I waited till They sent me the DS3230 via email before I sent in the optin email but I have seen people do it as soon as they give the NVC their email addresses. I think you should be okay to send it before just make sure to send it to the proper email address.

Good luck :)

I actually did get through to an operator..took about 30-40 minutes of waiting. I wasn't sure what I needed to do, but she did take my email and put it into the computer and I asked if I could send in the DS-3230 and start the electronic process. She just said to make sure my case number was on it. So, I finally ended up finding the "right" DS-3230 everyone was talking about from the wiki and sent in that one, so we'll see what happens next.

just a quickie note.

The online payment portal

and

NVC Electronic Processing

are two seperate 'things'.

But -

Specifically for Montreal Cases

Once you have sent in the OPT IN email,

AND start paying for things ONLINE -

you can SEND IN a set, after the payment portal marks it PAID.

IMO, Wyatt's approach worked well, and shaved off the most time - so I'm using his 'model' as THE 'model' for all of this.

GUZ/GZO casefiles are a bit different, alas.

Good Luck !

So I gave the wrong email address to the NVC operator when I called in. Will try to get thru again tonight, but should we re-send in the OPTIN email or will they figure it out with the case number on it?

if you've sent in the OPT IN EMAIL - that's it. No Need to resend it.

But - NVC needs the 'right' email addresses on you two - so try to clear that up today or tomorrow, ah?

Good Luck !

I feel like I'm doing something wrong here....

My husband emailed in the DS3032 on 3-9 and we haven't received anything from the NVC confirming it or accepting it...he did call in to make sure they had our correct email addresses (I gave the wrong one earlier) and they said they did already (which means they must have gottent his correct email off the 3032).

I paid the $70 AOS bill on 3-16 and emailed the AOS package on 3-18 and have heard nothing at all. Also, the IV bill has not yet been invoiced?.

I know it hasn't been all that long, but looking at other people's timelines, they've paid both bills on the same day or within a couple days. Should I wait or make a call?

Thanks!

currently between 5 to 11 days for getting the 'successful EP enrollment' email.

Don't sweat that.

take another look at the OPT IN email format, though - make sure you matched that format.

Keep monitoring the online payment portal - it's usually 2 to 5 days between 'aos paid' to 'iv ready to be paid'.

go by the payment portal, for 'what to do next' and 'what to send next'.

Don't sweat the OPT IN email, at this point.

did you resolve the 'wrong email address' at NVC with a human?

That's not going to trip you up for NVC EP, as you're 'doing something else' instead of 'normal NVC processing'.

Good Luck !

No, I never got an email back for the optin....

and thats from the 9th, right?

maybe you got caught up in the 'email address change' for OPTing in.

It changed up, recently, from

NVCMontreal@state.gov to

NVCElectronic@state.gov

most ppl sending off to the 'first one' noted there was no 'bounce back' when sending further document sets, though.

What email address did your spouse SEND the OPT IN email to?

If NVCInquiry@state.gov - alas - thats absolutely wrong - send it in again to the NVCElectronic@state.gov email address.

MAYBE NVC doesn't recognize yer casefile as 'FOR EP' - ya - call the NVC, get a human, then ask for a supervisor, and inquire - be specific - ask for 'NVC Electronic Processing OPT IN status' with the supervisor. The first human you talk to, won't be able to help you - they DON'T have access to the right computer screens. The supervisor, however, does.

Alternatively, an 'inquiry email' to NVCElectronic@state.gov should have some results back for you - the SERCO contractors that are handling that email account actually do respond within 3 days, for 'status' type of questions. I'm betting that IF you email for status, then someone will review the e-file sets, and absolutely 're-home all' to EP.
