I don't get the concept behind the I-130, when I checked into adopting a rescue dog, a dog that nobody wants, and will be put to death if no one adopts it, they wanted to come out to my home first and meet the entire family before we could even start.

When I petitioned for my wife's daughter as the USC, my wife's name wasn't even mentioned in the form, maybe she doesn't want her daughter to come, just seem to be that both the step and natural parent should be in that process. Only one signs the I-864, but as a married couple, both of you are liable if aid is needed.

Same when my wife petitioned for her unmarried over 21 son, he would be living with us, if he live long enough for me to come over here, yet my name is not on his petition anywhere and also would be liable even if my wife only signed the I-864. It just seems to me that both parent should be mutually agreed and sign the petition. I send off the check from our joint banking account, but put my wife's data on it, it was cashed with no problems. I did that to let them know indirectly, that I am also interested in bringing my wife's son here.

I *think* that they cashed the cash and the check itself had not the name or case # of the beneficiary on it, so they don't know how to assign the payment.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

OP .. you have nothing to worry about. That's what I got too, and I am the petitioner. In a day or two, the payment will be marked "PAID" and you will be able to see the cover letter. Cover letter will have proper name.

Also, for your piece of mind, take a look at the attached .pdf file. I bet it has the correct name.

Yes, this is just the generic email that is sent out once the payment process begins,,,just wait a couple days and keep checking the site for the "in process" to change to "paid".

It's good it cleared out, i thought they only accept cashier checks or money order, not personalized cheks.

I always paid the USCIS by personal check, that way I know when they cash it and have the canceled check for a receipt. Most critical is the I-751, can cash the check and misplace your application, up to you to prove payment, also up to you to stay legal.

For every form the USCIS has, which is just about every form, that requires a fee payment, the instruction clearly state how they want you to make out the check and what additional information they want on it, read and follow those instructions verbatim. They do not recommend sending cash, but you would be crazy if you did, the guy opening your application envelop can pocket the money and pitch your application.

I paid all the on-line bills for both my parents.. NVC do not care who pays the invoice as long as the payment is made. I have paid on line for my best friend when he needed to pay the IV bill for his wife and he did not have the money available and he had no problems.

Most people pay the NVC bills online using there account info, you do not need to send them a check it is all done by electronic payment.
