Hi All!!

After requesting another status update, the Tirana consulate notified us that packet 4 was mailed to my fiance but he never received it. Therefore, he missed his medical appointment on 5/10 and is scheduled for his interview on 5/24. So, we will need to reschedule both appointments. Getting closer...

Oh good grief. Too bad all the consulates can't do automated telephone calls OR emails like the USCIS site does. Just something simple like ... on ___date___ we sent to you a notice via ___snail mail/carrier pigeon___. If you do not receive this notice within 5-7 business days, please contact us at 1-800-FIA-NCEE.

Yeah, communication is always KEY!

Beth and John, I received your wedding invitation today. Beautiful! I can't wait to take pictures next Friday of you and John getting married!

My friend who is making my wedding dress called today to say that she has it all together and that I ever quit teaching I should go into wedding dress design because the dress is gorgeous! I can't wait to try it on next week! July 11, 2010 can't come quickly enough!

Hello :) Happy to see that we almost done our journey :) I have a question about AOS, maybe someone of you know the answer and could help me :) So situation : Our co-sponsor is his sister, we have all her documents wich were ready for iinterview ( april) Should we get some new documents , like employment letter and pay stubs or it will be enought the ones wich we had for april? ( not older than 6 months)

Also shes getting married this weekend, so how will it affect our I-1864 beside counting more houshold members? Will we need to get something of her husband when we will apply for Aos? Or its enoyught just her own taxes, employment letter, pay stubs, and filled I-1864? Thank you

I hope your wedding days are fabulous, Beth (Friday), Rito (Saturday) and corcor (Sunday)! :)

(By the way, Rito, we're also getting married in Vegas, but not by Elvis - my mom would flip! Did you do the online "pre-registration" for the marriage license?)

Caveman, I hope your other half's POE goes smoothly, as well!

kristik, have they given you a new interview date yet? You should follow up with them via email (if possible), to try to get them to email you the medical/interview dates. I don't know if your consulate will, but Brazil was always willing to talk with me (the USC petitioner) as well as L when it came to anything relating to our case. Just make sure your email has your name / DOB, his name / DOB, and your NVC case number. I worry that if the first one got lost in the mail, the second one may as well :(

Congrats to thekatokat, whose fiancée interviewed and was approved :)

lostinlove, still in AP? :(

Chi Na, have you gotten your Packet 3 yet?

keydymenro, NVC finally got your package? THAT IS SO AWESOME! They're so terrible for taking them FOUR MONTHS to send it to NVC! I'm glad NVC got through it quickly and it's in Honduras FINALLY! :) I don't know if Honduras does Packet 3/Packet 4, but either way, you're *finally* on your way to your interview.

Thanks! I saw that article, and I wish we could pay in advance, but I don't think it's an option London offers.

Oh well, we already knew we'd be poor anyway!

Well, it seems the "request for comments" didn't really make a difference. I hope everyone will get through what needs to be done with the funds necessary.

Sorry all, it's been awhile since I last posted here. I moved to a new place a couple weeks ago and pretty busy. So far, I have not received Packet 3 in mail yet. I went to HCM consulate with case number to get information. They said packet 3 was sent out on 22 May to my old address, they also gave me the instruction package including DS-2001, Notification of Applicant Readiness. I have no idea why the consulate did not send it to my new address, a month ago my fiance noticed them via email.

My fiance will be in HCM next week, we will return P3 in early June. We are hoping to have interview some time around August while he is here with us. The consulate in HCM is quite slow, it usually takes between 2-3 months to have interview date after P3 sent back to them.

Quick update here. As K & L correctly states, we got successfully hitched by Elvis in a drive-through in Vegas on Saturday, May 22. The ceremony was so much fun. I dressed up as Carmen Sandiego, my fiance was Waldo, and our two guests were Wesley (from Princess Bride) and Dorothy. The theme here is "lost people who found each other." The ceremony was about 15 minutes long and took place in the back of a pink Cadillac. It was awesome - lots of innocent bystanders became our enthusiastic wedding "guests" to cheer on the unusual ceremony.

So, Carmen Sandiego and Waldo are officially hitched. We sent off our AOS/EAD/AP package today and will apply for SSN this Friday. Yeeeeeeaaaaah.

Yep, we did the pre-registration. The pre-registration form website is horrible, but the Vegas office had it and paying for the license was simple. The website didn't have "Northern Ireland" listed (only England... no UK... #######?), but the office easily fixed it for us.

We got married the following day (Saturday) at a chapel/drive-through that promised they'd send the marriage license to the recorder's office on Monday morning. Monday morning we called the chapel to make sure they'd sent the license (they had), and then we got two certified copies by going to the office in person. It was all really easy. If you want more info about that, PM me and I'll give you the deets.
