Kalay,

Do you think your approval was based on you seeing the congressman? If so, I won't wait for reply from CSC, I'll call the office of my congressman tomorrow. Please let me know. Thanks!

yes the approval was based on congressman office. I talk to press deputy from congressman office and he helps me to assign best case worker to follow up my case. It took me two week and the third week i follow up with press deputy.

Hi Everyone

I have applied for my I129F visa for my fiancee which was received in the Calif office on Oct 22, 2009 and have been checking everyday on the web sight to see where the status is. It only shows "Initial Review" since the application has been accepted. Any information on what more time I can expect would be appreciated. It said the processing time is 5 months and that time will be in about 1 week.

Hello ckm8. They say 5 months but most people from oct, have already been approved w/ the whole process, others are waiting for interviews. Some of us (myself included) have been left behind in the "initial review" land. Kalay is another member who was also appraching the 5 month mark---contacted congressman and was approved. I'd suggest contacting your congressman at this time. The 1-800 # and info pass is useless in my opinion.

received hard copy today :) :) :)

hopefully, congressman office can able to help on your case.

1-800 # is useless. eventhough, u passed the 5 months mark, they will say "they can't submit the request for research. Please wait for another 30 days."

i don't know about info-pass.

It should be useful because you have the chance to talk with actual officer.

This process is sooo frustrating!! I received an e-mail from Cali Service Center to my inquiry and it as so basic: "You haven't followed process by contacting the 1800 #, no action will be taken on your case." I wrote back explaining---I called the 1800 #, they sent me to an info pass and info pass told me to email you. I called the Customer Service Line and they again told me nothing they could do and fwd my call to an officer and he told me to "pratice more patience." O.M.G!!!!

I contacted my Congressman office today (a friend passed away suddenly yesterday) I wasn't able to contact them yesterday. My congressman office requested all info/e-mails---which I provided.

I just signed on to my account and it shows it touched as of today. Do you guys think it was b/c I spoke to an officer through the 1-800 # today or it was touched--touched??

Looking at the consulate's website:

The fiancé(e) visa packet of a biographic data form DS-230-I Part I, Form DS-156 (in duplicate), Form DS-156K, (in duplicate), Form DS-157 (in duplicate), Form DS-2000 and a document checklist, form IV-15K.

You need to download, fill out (as applicable), and print:

  • DS-230 - fill out Part I only
  • DS-156 (and print a second copy) <-- online form
  • DS-156K (and print a second copy)
  • DS-157 (and print a second copy)
  • IV-15K <--- unique to the UK

Don't sign any of the 156/156K forms, as that's done at the interview. Mail them to the Immigrant Visa Unit at 5 Upper Grosvenor Street, London, W1A 2JB.

They do make reference to a DS-2000, but I don't know anything about it - Brazil requires the I-134 form instead. Some places on the consulate's website references mailing it with the other paperwork, others say they just need the 230/156/156K/157.

You can see examples of the forms here on VJ, if you need more help and how the forms should be filled out :)

For what it's worth, London's packet 3 is a piece of paper with that link printed on it. Actually, K and L's advice is really good, so look it over to get started. You REALLY need to go over to the United Kingdom regional forum and do your own research, though. It's not very overwhelming once you spend a bit of time looking everything over :)

Wow, jerks :D They're not so nice over at CSC! But at least you got a touch for your effort. I guess none of us have any way of being sure, but this might be a real touch!! Really really!!

Hello all!! i am so happy seeing all your steps forward!! we still stucked with finding co-sponsor! So i have a question : our noa 2 dated on january 14, package 3 came february 1, as i know noa2 valid for 4 months. So the question is- wont it cause any problems if i sent our package 3, just on second week of april wotout contacting embassy prior? it will be 3th month of having it!

I'm rooting for you!! I hope that NOA2 comes very, very soon!!

Has anyone heard from LeoLaLit? Interview should have been yesterday, so I'm hoping they got approved. We're up this Friday. Man, this is nerve-wracking!

Not heard anything from Leo yet. I'm sure they've been approved, though :) Good luck on Friday. You're going to be fine!

Oh no, still no co-sponsor? Has your fiance branched out to try asking aunts/uncles/other extended family/close friend/family friends, etc? As for your packet 3, you should be fine sending it the second week of April- you're still well within the four month mark. After that, though, I'm not sure!

Hi Guys!

Just dropped by to share the great news - WE GOT APPROVED!!! YAY!!!

The actual interview by the consul took literally 5 minutes! We also requested to pick up the visa instead of having it delivered - we got the call the following day and picked it up yesterday!

I'll post a more detailed review of the interview soon...

Best of luck to those who are about to have their interview!

Thanks to all of you! - for all the support and prayers!
