My question is, HOW do you get your tax forms notarized?

For the UK, packet three says "notarized tax forms," but everyone who goes for an interview reports it is not required. I don't think it's required at any consulate anymore, to be honest, but I don't have the proof on that right now.

Getting things notarized in the US is pretty easy, though. Most any bank has a certified notary available. Sometimes the bank you do business with will offer the service for free. The notary basically just watches you sign something and then certifies that you actually signed it yourself.

I've been a long time in waiting.

But the wait is finally over!!! NOA2 received by email and text message!!! Yaaay, my optimism has been restored!

Congratulations!!! That wasn't so bad, right?! :D:thumbs::dance:

Don't freak out, as the statistics are based on VJ member's averages. Remember the USCIS site says the wait could be 3-6 months - with 5 months being 'average'. I spoke with a USCIS operator today, he had nothing reassuring to say other than call back if it passes the 5 month mark. In general be prepared to wait another month.. I got my NOA1 on Oct, 22, 2009 - so we are both close.

Thanks! I'll be anxious to see how quickly the NVC processing goes! Really hope we can get our interview date sometime in mid-March. Fortunately AIT seems to be a pretty efficient embassy from what I've read.

Good luck to you, too, and keep us posted!

Does anyone have any idea what the packet 3 from the consulate will include? Is there anything that I need to get to my fiance ASAP so that there's no delay in getting an interview date scheduled? I know it's still 2-3 weeks off, but I want to get everything in order. The affidavit of support is something she brings to the interview, right?

Also, I know that people have been calling the NVC to get info on the processing of their paperwork. Is calling the only means of getting any info about it, or is there a way to get electronic notifications?

Thanks! Your guidance is much appreciated!

This is a great read, long but good info, from a VJ member that used to be an Adjudicator for NCS. He had some VERY helpful information. It might help to understand why some cases get touched over and over, and some get nothing.

Kalay - your case just might have needed some additional information from another source and be sitting waiting on that info to come in. I highly recommend you read the post I was referring to.

I hope it helps someone ;)
