Hello to all, I have a question on the DS-3032, this form is sent to both of us, or just my wife in China? she will need to select agent of choice and send this back to NVC or email this back or both?

Once the NVC recieves this the process starts. If I am selected as the agent all communication and paperwork is sent to my address in the States?

the reason i ask this is i will be going to China for 3 months and wont be home to get the mail.

Thank you for the input.

It is sent to your wife. We didn't wait to send the form, we followed the short-cut and e-mailed the choice of agent

YOU have to the NVC case number when you send them the DS-3032 Choice of Agent form, otherwise it is useless.

Get your case number from NVC.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

DS-3032 is a form for a choice of agent (who will be dealing with the documents and making the payments). Once you are at NVC stage, call NVC and give them yours and the beneficiary's e-mails, then later get your case number. My husband never received hard copies of DS-3032 or DS-230. We received everything by e-mail. If you are going to China, I know that China is one of the countries that do this process electronically, so try to find other members with Chinese beneficiaries and find out how does it work. Someone is creating also a Wiki thread about it here on VJ. Mailing DS-3032 from China will take approximately the same time as e-mailing it, so I'd go with the second one. You can always make the payments from China. The only thing you'll have to mail (if not done electronically) will be the DS-230 package. Good luck and no bumpy rides through NVC stage

Also, as you are filing now for CR-1, do you mind to change your VJ timeline HERE. :time: Thank you :)

are you wanting to 'go electronic' at NVC ? If so - you'll have to follow the guidelines for NVC electronic processing, send it that special DS-3032 form , SIGNED and rescanned, converted to PDF, PLUS the biodata in the body of the email, over to NVCGuangzhou@state.gov

Then, ya gotta bug the NVC Tele-Operators to actually LOOK at your stuff - the process for 'normal' DS-3032 has been changing up the last 5 weeks. Basically - once a GUZ number is assigned, it's safe to send in the DS-3032 to the special GUZ OPTIN email address.

You have to 'train' each NVC Tele-Operator that you speak to, about 'electronic processing'. It's a PITA, but if you can call once a day, and check in with them - they'll get it re-homed properly to a GZO number. It really is a PITA.

If you don't care about electronic processing, and snail mail is ok for you - I suggest you set up an account with DHL to handle all of paper submissions.

FWIW, you really have to WAIT until a GUZ casenumber is assigned, if you want to 'go electronic'.

You can check with NVC about the casenumber - when one has been assigned, then you can OPT IN for electronic processing.

Here's a post about the trials and tribulations of getting it 'rehomed' for electonic processing -

He was successful, but there was some confusion at NVC for paper vs electronic, from the NVC Tele-Operators.
