Alright- going a little coockoo right now with the I-864 mess. So, I made ####### for the last few years- still don't make enough. Background/ other facts first.

My (now) husband came in on a fiance's visa and we are filing for AOS now. When filing for K-1 both my mother and I filled out separate I-134's. My mother was a sponsor cause I haven't made enough money but I still filed an I-134, including what I could regarding tax-returns etc.

1. Now, I am filing the I-864 as the wife/ petitioner of the intending immigrant and primary sponsor.

-What do I need to include as proof of income, if I don't make enough money anyways

- My mother ( she does not live with us) is also filling one out and she makes far above the requirements.

2. Also, on my form I select (box one for family member petitioning) and my Mom checks the box for Joint sponsor, correct?

3. Should I write anything anywhere linking the two- or a letter of explanation or what?

THANKS!!!

You - the US Citizen Spouse are still the primary sponsor - regardless of income - so you'll of course need to complete the I-864 and submit what ever supporting documents are appropriate for your situation (for most that includes most recent year's income tax return and supporting document such as W-2's, plus pay stubs for your current job).

- My mother ( she does not live with us) is also filling one out and she makes far above the requirements.

Your mother - you may already know this but, - still need to complete an I-864 and include all appropriate supporting evidence for her situation (as above, things like most recent year's tax return with all its W-2's etc, plus pay stubs and don't forget she'll need proof of citizenship - such as birth certificate and/or bio-page of passport).

2. Also, on my form I select (box one for family member petitioning) and my Mom checks the box for Joint sponsor, correct?

Box "A" for you, Box "D" for your mother.

3. Should I write anything anywhere linking the two- or a letter of explanation or what?

To explain what?

THANKS!!!

YAY! Fast response! Um... to respond to number three I guess I just meant linking the two I-864s and stating the obvious (I'm broke!)

- I guess I can just allude to that in the cover letter.

You could include a letter of explanation - although they'll pretty quickly see from your I-864 (and it's supporting evidence) and the fact that you included a joint sponsor. Up to you though.

They know what a co sponsor is, uscis cares about one big check box and a lot of little ones. The big one is the I-864's and proving support. I bet that is the first they learn and it gets beat in their heads day after day after day. If you don't met the income req they will just make sure it is filled out right and look at the co sponsor and that is it. If you were to write a letter they would never read it.
