My wife and I received the NOA 1 on our I-485, I-765 and I-131 on 9-23-09 . All were filed at Chicago Office. Our receipt number begins with

MSC which I learned stands for Misouri Service Center. We have registered online with USCIS and when entering our Receipt number to add our

case to portfolio we get a "not entered correctly and number does not exist".

How long does it take for the number to be accessed on the web site or is this just another Government SNAFU.

We have called the 1-800-375-5283 and have never been able to talk to anyone live. (no surprise to me)

This happening to you as well?

Thanks.

I am sorry to hear you have trouble entering your cases. Mine work fine, but I had a few problems with this system as well. For example did I have an error at one point that said I would have a double ID. I jsut signed up again with a different username and now everything is good again.

Did you make sure to enter MSC and then the numbers without any dashes? I hope you can solve it soon!

I suggest to try again, but with a different email address. If that doesn't work -

then its a sure sign the data has not 'caught up' in the system. Then give it another week or so, try again with your original USCIS account.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Often times, the case isn't available in the system right away. Usually after biometrics, it comes. Unfortunately, a small percentage of people are never able to track their case status online.

This system is not very reliable, even if you can track your case. It may say "pending" then you get a greencard in the mail out of the blue.

Plus, it's better if you can't track your case anyway. It will save you years of therapy for OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). I heard of people who check 20-30 times a day to see if they had an update. Those people are probably in therapy right now.

Sometimes cases never show up online. As previously mentioned, the system is notoriously unreliable. Our I485 never showed up until after approval. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

As far as the 1-800 number goes, those people don't have any more information available to them than you do online. So if your case isn't showing up online, it's not available to them either.
