Hi everyone!

Just a question, i recently got married and now about to apply for the AOS. And since they're a bunch of forms that i need to fill out and sign, im not confused about what signature to use.

Should i just stick to my old signature? or should i make/create a new signature, bearing my married name?

Thanks!

Sign it with your legal name. If you took your husband's name at marriage then you are now "Yourfirstname Marriedlastname'"

you signature is your "unique" mark... My wife did not change her signature but you could not read what it says anyway... but she knows it is hers.

YMMV

But my question is, are you legally required to change it? My signature clearly states my maiden name.

i guess it depends on what name you use on the forms!!! what ever you use, you green card will be written the same, so if you want to take your husbands name and have ur husbands name on your greencard and later on your USA passport, then i guess you need a new signature with your now married name!!!

I am not sure there is a law passed by congress that says you MUST change your signature... you obviously can if it would eliminate confusion

My wife did not change her name. If you take these three symbols and put them relatively on top of each other (in any order you prefer), you get a vague idea of what her signature looks like ...&@¬ I doubt it would change if she changed her name and it is accepted worldwide as her signature. If her signature is actually "legible" then I suppose she could change it, but a signature does not have to be legible or exact or in any given language or alphabet.
