Getting ready to file I-130

Hi and thanks for posting your journeys. It makes me feel comforted.

I'm getting ready to submit our I-130 this week along with the G-325's. I would appreciate any advice anyone can offer. I'm reading so much information that I'm confusing myself. Do I need to file the I-864 now or do I wait until later? Is it a good idea to do a letter of intent and a table of contents? Really...any advice anyone could pass my way would be greatly appreciated.

MrsWhizz,

No you are not required to do a letter of intent, that is only a requirement for fiance's.

No you don't submit the I-864 until later....either at NVC if you go the CR-1 path or interview with the K-3

Just double checking that you do have the G-325A and not the G-325 that you stated in your post. There is a difference.

I agree that a cover letter indexing the contents and having things tabbed makes it easier for an adjudicator to find things.

Other then that just follow the I-130 guide as to what you need to submit. Wishing you all the best on your journey.

Yes! I have the G-325a and other than the handcramps and waiting for my picture to be developed, I am ready to go. This forum is so helpful. What a great idea! Thank you for your help. I'm sure I'll have more questions soon!

Like...lol.....what if my hubby's address changes before all this is finished?

Mrs Whizz

Me and my bride filed the I130 last month, she is in London and will be relocating here with me to Atlanta GA. The advice I can give you especially onthe 325a's is to make sure that all your "I"'s are dotted and your "T"'s are crossed. Also the moment you send off your I-130 start working on your papers for the I-129F that way when you receive your first NOA (notice of action) from the I-130 which should be in about a week from the filing have your I-129F ready to go. PS when sending all your papers off make sure you have delivery confirmation....Good Luck....Wayne
