VSC to NVC for K-1

Hi all, been lurking for a while, but never posted. Thanks to everyone who does post! You made our lives so much easier. We got a NOA 2 from VSC on Sept. 9, but it still hasn't been received by NVC according to the automated number. Is this normal? I guess what I'm asking is how long should I wait before I call to check on it? Thanks!

Yes cal again and speak to a person the automated number is not intended for K1 Visas

If I signed up for automatic updates by email will I get one when it is sent and/or received by NVC or do I have to keep checking the hotline? And should I call USCIS or NVC to speak to a rep?

NVC mostly our k1 petitions never make it into the system for it to be checked with out talking to a real person

Your automatic email updates are only for USCIS. If you got an email with your NOA2, then that's probably the last email you'll get from them. Call NVC and talk to a human being.

Press 1 for English, then 5 to speak to an operator. Operators available 'til midnight Eastern time.

Ok, that was weird...I just talked to a customer service rep at USCIS and they said it doesn't go to NVC, it goes straight to the embassy. That doesn't seem right to me...anyone else have this experience?

Ok, now it gets weirder...I called NVC and they said they did receive it, but it was "in and out so fast" that it didn't get entered into the system. Sounds legit, right?

Anyway, it was forwarded to Skopje already. Yay! Thanks for the replies.

Same happened with our case. We were in and out of NVC on the same day. Good luck with the rest of the journey!

We are in the exact same boat Kristin. I received my NOA2 on 9/13. So I was wondering if I should start calling already. I guess I will wait until the end of next week.

Never be afraid to post anything on here. Trust me no question is too stupid. If you want to know something.....there are 100+ more on this website wondering the exact same thing. Just like me with this question. So thanks for asking it...
