I didn't do it although I wanted to

he didn't get the visa because they want a copy of his "court transcripts", he was convicted of drunk & disorderly conduct so I guess they need to make sure he won't require a waiver-which he won't(because the sentence given for that crime is less than 5 years).

So no approval, but I feel confident that once he gets this last bit of paperwork he will be approved. He said the one guy was getting ready to give him the visa, but a woman stopped him & said "oh no-we need more paperwork".

so.........................the journey continues

I was wondering how he got on, sorry there's no definate approval today but it does sound positive. So here's hoping that by the end of the month all will be well!!

p.s. Colleen; The courts go on holidays here July 31st, so make sure he gets his paperwork well in advance of that, as they don't resume again till September.

no sh*t-til Sept??? I called the local garda station & the woman who does those requests is out until Mon-she was sound and helped us out a lot with the police cert-hopefully she will come through again for us.

I am disappointed but I really think that once they see these papers he will be fine-he said the interview was pretty good. His convictions would not equal a total of five years in prison-so he shouldn't need to file the I-601(at least that is the way I am interpreting the law). They told him that once he gets the papers they will see him straight away! maybe we're only looking at another few weeks.
