According to the Department of Energy, the US only has only about 20-30 billion barrels in

"proved reserves."

Proved reserves are estimated quantities that analysis of geologic and engineering data

demonstrates with reasonable certainty are recoverable under existing economic and

operating conditions.

Hmmm...I wonder which government agency is wrong....Department of Energy or Department of the Interior...same government different data.

That's weird. The conservatives prior to Obama winning the election refused to have US oil exploration. And, now they are saying that the left are the ones who didn't want US oil exploration? Oh the stupidity!

Like who?

Vjers.

I know 100% that Barney Frank and his clan wanted to do ofshore drilling. But, it was opposed by the Republicans.

if you heve to ask..either you are an uppity Noob, junior therapist or a chopf##k...or all three

You forgot....If you have to ask, it probably isn't worth knowing.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I don't buy that. In general, conservatives wanted use more domestic oil but liberals are against it for environmental reasons. You clearly have forgotten that conservatives were saying "drill baby drill" in Alaska and lest we forget Gov. Palin and "oil men" Bush and Cheney.

There may be more reserves but are they worth recovering at any price. The price to extract may exceed the value of the reserves. Also, is the oil in tar sands as in Alberta where it's low quality, expensive and really bad for the environment?

Here's what's staggering...

The U.S. out consumes all other nations, even nearly 3 times more than the second largest, China.

20,680,000 bbl/day.

The European Union ..... 14,390,000 bbl/day

.....

Energy conservation as well tackling Global Warming should be our highest priorities.

Yep - about 25% of the world's consumption.

Before you scream "but we're only 5% of the world's population", remember that the US

produces 20% of the world's manufactured goods - between two and two and half times

more than China. 44% of the world's corn. 39% of the world's soy beans.

Not everything is made in China.

What planet are you living on? You don't recall "Drill baby Drill" during the campaign?

The only off-shore drilling Barney frank wanted to do was with a Cabana-Boy in some south Sea Island.
