AOS from K1 - e-mail from CRIS

Hello everyone,

Nadiya had her biometrics done today for AOS from a K1 and tonight we got an email from CRIS with the following statement "This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred".

Question: Is this too much of a coincidence or does this means that our case was transfer to CSC??? (perhaps even to our local office for an eventual interview)...I know some of you have had the same type of e-mail....

The CRIS system is so inaccuarte in its information that I would trust nothing it says there...good or bad. Our I-129f is still listed as "pending" and in a recent survey done here at this site, 18% of people with NOA2s were still listed as "pending" (and I thought I was special) and in total, 65% were given incorrect information about their case from the CRIS system. I gave up even looking at that thing. That said...take from it what you will

Hi Joe, I had my biometrics on Tuesday and later that day got transfer notices in the mail to say our cases have been sent to CSC. There was no update on CRIS, I called and asked and later that day CRIS updated to say the cases have been transferred to CSC. Ours were sent on the 26th August and Cris updated on the 1st September. Yesterday it updated again to say that the cases are now pending at CSC. The online system really isn't that good!

After you get your first GC.( the two year one) does it allow you to travel outside US? or one still have to have the parole papers?

After getting your 2 year green card you can travel abroad with no problems. The AP becomes a mute point as well as the EAD (as a matter of fact, they must be turned in to Immigration).

Just for clarification...the GC (or AP) is for your wife to re-enter the US after a trip abroad.. K-1 is valid for only one entry.

Only delayed us about a week or two Joe (the transfer I mean). You are on the way!

I think the officer told us to destroy them because the GC would come in the mail, and I am sure USCIS doesn't want to spend the money or time to collect them. I have read on VJ somewhere about the EAD and AP being collected, but they just told us to destroy them.

I thought so too, however after reading Brad and Vika's timeline, they were transfer to CSC but still had an interview... We'll celebrate when we actually get the GC in the mail.
