A'ight peeps, I'm back in the USA. It was a very tearful parting. My husband is living in substandard conditions. He *did* allow me to at least buy him some jeans and socks while I was there. I showed him a few recipes he can cook on the open hearth with very few ingredients, so I feel better about what he's eating (he'd been living on nothing but apples, potatoes, and nettles for a while there).

Thanks for all of your kind comments to my last post.

The big news is that the I-864 & DS-230 are on their way to the NVC per my attorney. I am praying he assembled it correctly, as I've seriously lost confidence in him. I'm too far into the game, though, to think about changing attorneys. I think he's one of those people who hates paperwork, but loves an argument, and we're going to need a good argument for our waiver after the visa is denied.

So, I'm back in the row boat with all of you....not sure if we made the deadline for scheduling a November interview, as the package just went out yesterday - probably by regular mail. Next week is actually the 2nd FULL week of October, so I'm praying we make it in time & there are no RFE's.

QUESTION QUESTION

i've asked this before but i gotta ask again

we're using a co-sponsor out of an abundance of caution and the person doesn't have a passport, they are a natural born citizen so they would have a birth certificate, but its the "short form" not the long one

is this gonna be an issue

they ordered a long form but its taking forever to come and i am running out of patience so i want to know if we can go ahead with the short form

Edited by Bunzarelli

I864 delivered November 2nd.....nvc logged it on November 5th

DS230 delivered November 6th.....nvc logged it on November 12th

Welcome to US Letter May 19th

Card production ordered May 25th

In my opinion, I would wait for the long form... I know that it sucks to wait, but better to be safe then get an RFE and stop the process... Plus, the 864 should be quicker to approve than the 230 and since you have not sent that yet... you should be OK...

So, I'm getting ready to send everything off, and had a quick question.

Is it really necessary that I write the case number at the top of EVERY document I submit? These packets are over 50 pages; I REALLY don't feel like writing the case number on top of every single page. Has anyone NOT done this and run into problems?

YES, YES, YES, YES x50... It is a pain, but if any of your documents gets misplaced, would you not kick yourself for wasting up to 60+ days with an RFE because they do not have it, or it was lost and do not know what file it goes with??? Take the 5 minutes now, it will be worth the peace of mind!!!

christeen did you say that after RFE ,, the will take that long to get back to you !!!!!!!:unsure:

Sometimes it is very quickly, but sometimes it takes some time?? Depends on what they are missing or needing.... For your issue, it is just a box filled out incorrectly (verification of info) so it should not be that long...

Also, just on a side note, it kinda might make others feel bad when you brag about how quickly that your info got accepted... if you look at the recent rate and time of acceptance of the 3032's it is about 12 - 20 days at the moment and that is just the reality of the recent big rush from USCIS approvals... Comparing your quick acceptance to others wait might be construed as a bit insensetive for those waiting.... Just my opinion...

thanks for calming me down about the RFE the only reason i said that was fast is because i was asked by some one and i was not bragging about it trust me i am in the same boat at the are ((( not finished with NVC ####### )) yet !!!!!!!!
