Today is August 29th.

At the supermarket I saw it at the check out. Christmas. Gingerbread, chocolate Santas, Christmas cards, Christmas deco. It's all out already.

It's August!!

I love Christmas, I really do. But it's August and I am wearing a short skirt and flip flops! It's 80° outside FFS!

Has it started in your grocery store as well?

Karin is working at Michael's - they have their x-mas starting to go out - Hobby Lobby (a similar store) has theirs out already; these types of stores I can understand sort of (lot of people start their crafting about this time), but the candies etc... uh..just a bit too early...

Hehehe well i didn't see any Christmas items at Kroger's this week - but I did see lots of Hallowe'en stuff even though that is also 2 months away.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I havn't seen anything Christmas or Halloween yet. Thank goodness.

Seeing it so early ticks me off. It's only August.

Halloween stuff should be popping up here by Labor day though.

Religion aside, it makes good financial sense to promote it.

People of various backgrounds and beliefs participate in Christmas over there. Yes, including my Indian friends. People are not as intent on ripping out religion, which goes along with diversity, there.

Probably why it's such a freagin awesome place to live in. Aussie Aussie Aussie Oh! oh! oh!

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

There were ribbons and wrapping paper for sale at Costco a few weeks ago.

I think part of it may be that some people make stuff for craft fairs etc around Christmas time. So they need to start early. At least that is why I always presumed you could find the crafty stuff out early.
