Morning, am running late today! I woke up in the middle of the night to some horrendus noise, so Tinker ran to the front room window and started barking and all of a sudden I knew what it was. A skunk started crossing the road, and must have gotton into a fight almost right outside my bedroom window and it sprayed! EWWWWWWW! Needless to say, the next few hours trying to sleep was he]]! Anyway have a good day!

Oh no! Did he get you or any of your stuff?

I think it was Maureen's dog who got sprayed eons ago and she asked us all what to do. In the end the poor dog got washed in (I think) Dawn soap, tomato juice, and citrus mouthwash.

Hump Day is here, have no fear! And its starts the two-week countdown to my move to Seattle. w000000000t!

I am happy for everyone who got approvals from Cairo with no AP but I can tell you there doesn't seem to be any logic to how they choose who gets AP. Hubby got AP and he's clean as a whistle, a teacher and never been out of the country. We are age appropriate, his family approves yada yada and his interview was on the 13th. Really disheartening.

I don't understand this "no AP" thing in Cairo. Does this mean that they are not running name checks on these people? Or does it mean that the name check was completed by the time of the interview? It seems to strange to me if it is the former - isn't that against policy?

I agree with Jenn. I don't think its no AP, they might have run checks just prior to interviews and are ahead of the game on some applicants. But for them to say they are not doing it on immigrants who come here just doesn't seem correct. However, 2 weeks is enough time to run checks as well....if there was no AP at all wouldn't they give a visa the same day? Just a thought.

Anyway, praying everyone gets their loved ones with them soon no matter what! (F)

Happy Hump Day!

Congrats to the visas coming everyone! Great news!

((Betsy)) I am so sorry, I know how you feel, but hopefully he will receive his visa very soon. When Abed was placed in "AP" we didn't know it was happening, the embassy (in Beirut) told us they sometimes don't know if someone will be in AP until they put the person's name in to print the visa, he just so happened to have a common name and that may be the case with you too. Keep your chin up and keep the faith. God does things in His time, not in ours....that's what I tried to remember when I didn't think I could take it anymore. If you need someone to talk to, pm me, I have a couple good ears and shoulders and don't mind lending them out. (F)

Have a great day everyone! Today I will be packing...yippee...I hate moving.

Congrats B&S on the approval! I'm worried about this no AP thing too because this is highly unusal for Cairo to have this many cases saying no AP when they are historicly known for AP. Ever heard the saying if it's too much of a good thing then it might just not be true? I'm thinking it either the error of a new person or they really have become more efficient behind the scenes. But come on...this is Egypt...they are on Egypt time. I guess I'll let you all know around Sept 9th if we get visa in hand or not.

Thank you all for the congrats. I am not sure whats going on either and I am sure not gettin my hopes up. I asked her straight up I said is he going to be in AP, she said No, she said some word I cant remember but meaning it was going to be made in 2 weeks then sent out. When we was sitting there waiting for the interview I heard one of the men giving the interview and he said to this egyptian guy we are puttin you in AP. So, I have no idea if our interview person was just wantin us out of the way or was confused. I do wonder if it is random, or it depends on your interview officer. I guess we will see in 2 or 3 weeks too.
