I received my receipt number in May 2009. It was on my NOA1 Notice of Action form. I am still to this date unable to enter it into the uscis.gov website 'trying to add a case to my portfolio'. Each time I enter it, I get a error message stating that I am attempting to either add a case that does not exist or enter an incorrect number and to check the number again. My question is, when adding a case to my portfolio, to review any updates, etc., do I enter a receipt number? The one that begins with 'EAC" or do I enter a case number? Its been 3 months and 5 days now that I have been trying to add this.

I seen a post a few minutes ago asking about a case number, which got me thinking if that was what I was supposed to be entering and not the EAC receipt number. Any idea?

oh, and I Have called uscis 3 times about this, and each time I am told that they will forward my request to the appropriate person and to retry again in 24-48 hours.

Your receipt number is your case number. Enter the EAC number.

Receipt number is NOT your case number. Your receipt Number is shown on your NOA1. Your Case number will be on your letter from the NVC after you are approved.

The receipt number "should" work on the USCIS case status web site but sometimes they do not.

I've been having the same problematic experiences with the USCIS website too. Since June when my petition was reaffirmed it either shows no update or I get an error page. Now I just check periodically...maybe they're giving the site a major make-over.

My case status still stands at saying that a RFE was sent back in February. We were approved in May and my fiancee has been here sicne July 4th. For some, it just never gets updated. Nothing to be concerned about.
