Last year I took my first trip to the Middle East, to Jordan where my husband lives. Not once did I feel unsafe....and I am very white with blue eyes so I did stick out! Everyone that I met was super nice and when they found out where I was from, especially the check point guards/police near the Jordanian-Israeli border--somehow they all knew how to say "Welcome to Jordan" :) I think the only time I got uneasy was when I went to the US embassy in Amman...the guards there were a little scary...fancy that! I am so ready to go back!!!!

EL ROSARIO, BAJA, MEXICO (The ex-wife is in this picture...betcha can't find her!! haha!!)

She's the blonde.

Yeah, heard that in my car after I posted that...hmm. This seems suspicious to me. What if someone else killed her and they were after him too? He escaped temporarily to Canada until the news blasted his werabouts all over and tipped the REAL killers off. Seems Canada is not so safe afterall!

What if he was killed by extra-terrestrials??!!!!! :o And NONE of us are safe! :crying:

 Krikit! I bet that's exactly what happened! Poor guy. He was too afraid to call the cops after his ex got brutally murdered when he was with her, escaped to Canada, but the aliens found him anyway. I bet they put a tracker inside his body when he was born! And then the aliens made it look like suicide! Scary aliens.

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

That does make sense when you think about it. Look how quickly the mounties jumped on "apparant suicide". Cover up people. Open your eyes.

i feel safe in almaty ...the rest of kazakhstan ..i do not know

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

The OP's question is retarded. Unless there's a country out there as small as an American neighborhood, whether you feel safe or not depends on where you are and what you're doing.

And who you're with. When our CIO goes to Colombia he has bodyguards. I'd bet he feels pretty fuсking safe.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I dress American, American t-shirts, hoodies, etc. When I tell people I'm American, they say - "You're not American! American's can speak Spanish like you do. Your PARENTS are COLOMBIAN and they brought you to America!!" "You're a COLOMBIAN!"

I often get called Costeño when not on the coast. So ordering up an Arepa'e huevo with jugo de papaya in Santa Marta is OK...

Only once did I get the inclination, in my 7 trips down there... that something was amiss. Riding Copetran from Bucaramanga to Santa Marta- we crossed Santander del Norte and the driver stopped for a soda. This was somewhere up in the mountains. My wife told me not to get off the bus and for good measure- it was guerrilla country. So I sat inside and we left after a couple of minutes. A couple of KM down the winding road I did notice a small column of what were likely guerrillas close to the road, with that armband Colombian flag that would ID them as FARC. Obviously I felt a bit apprehensive but the bus kept going.

Turns out Copetran, Berlinas, etc... all pay off the major armed groups in Colombia to not get stopped.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Ok now was that really necessary? It is a general question geez.

All I can say is it is Colombia - if the Colombians traditionally don't feel too safe there I wouldn't either.

With the one exception above I felt completely safe. Of course, that doesn't include being observed as a possible target, but there is little one can do about that.

There is an expression... 'no dar papaya' that is important to remember whenever you're in a place where there is a huge disparity between rich and poor.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
