Congrats thong! soooo fast. :)

Thanks,

It's a big relief; now the next hurdle is travel & the POE.

If we had got all our packet3 stuff organized when we got the NOA2,

we most likely would have been the fastest Thai K-1 interview in

the Visa Journey database. We took the time to double-check

everything and then triple check that.

It also helped to be in the same room while we were going over

the forms.

In any case, I'm very satisfied with her having the 3rd fastest K-1 interview.

All the packet 3 stuff is done, fiance is sending it off tomorrow!! Was supposed to be today but he couldn't find the place and his lunch hour was over...

Also got his police certificate and long form of his birth certificate! Waiting until December 7th to book a January medical (doctors schedules don't come out before then)...and then hopefully a Feb/March interview!! He's coming to the U.S. in early Feb for an engaged encounter retreat through the Archdiosceses of Seattle and to meet all the relatives and my folks :)

Then POE hopefully June and wedding in September! So far away.........grr. I want to do a countdown to our wedding, but I don't want to jinx getting the visa, lol.

Still waiting the embassy to send me their letter here! And will try to do my medical somewhere after Dec 14th so I can skip that super expensive HPV vaccine! Why is here: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/articl...6bOOzAD9C0TFJ02

I've been sending e-mails to my embassy every two days hoping for some news, they always answer, but no news on my case yet.

yayy packet 3 sent! Looks like it takes up to a month for the UK embassy to assign an interview date since they only assign interview dates at the beginning of the month. Mid-February, come on!! :)

oh: and I leave next week to see him :luv: I got a super great deal on British Airways for $750 round trip from D.C. --> London ---> Florence (to see my sister who's studying there) --> London --> D.C. And BA treats you soooooo much better than the American companies, ugh. I love to travel BA and Virgin Atlantic.

I just got my packet 3 in the mail from Montreal today. Not going to have the documents ready for a couple more weeks, but at least things are still moving along.

Justine I'm not sure if it's the same for you guys, but on my papers it says you can't schedule the physical until you have the interview date. Not really sure why aside from time limitations.

Gosh embassies sure do things different! I won't even write how different, so people don't get confused!

But to clarify what might have cought you Kevbev: some countries let you do the medical having just the NVC number and the passport, no need for the interview date to be set.

Now for the good news! My interview date is scheduled! February 2nd!

lol, at the London consulate, you can schedule a medical exam as soon as you have your LND case number from the NVC.

Congrats on the interview date! Yeah, at London, we have to send off packet 3 docs, wait for an interview date which they only assign once a month, grr. I'm curious how yours is different, please post if you'd like! I don't think people will get confused as long as you say, "at my consulate..."

Thank you!

Ok, so, on my embassy of Rio de Janeiro:

I'm still seeing it, but I'll say what happened so far to me and others: there is no package 3 or 4, they just send a letter with the interview date and a link to check their PDF with instructions. I didn't receive the said letter yet, but the embassy answers e-mails inquirying about interview dates. They answered all my 3 e-mails (the tip was to send one every 2 days), and on the 3rd one they answered saying they had my case and the interview was on that date, the link with all the instructions and that I would receive a letter soon. The e-mail thing is just to know it before the letter, in case you are too anxious or wanting to plan ahead like me... I really appreciate they actually see those e-mails everyday and answered them all, even when my case was not there yet!

The letter will have the interview date and the PDF link. All documents are taken on the day of the interview, nothing has to be sent previously. The instructions and document order PDF files are all updated from October and November of this year, and was very nice because it confirmed all instructions I had seen here already. So they basically have a very nice checklist, which made me glad :)

Again, this is the Rio de Janeiro embassy case, I don't know the other countries!

lol, so at London, you can't e-mail them.

Unless...

You pay $15 to call them up in advance to ask for a weekly e-mail code.

In the UK forum, we affectionately call it the "extortion" line. We're better off just calling DOS, which is freeee :)

All the DS forms David had to do were a pain the butt too because they kept asking the same info over and over! But like in different formats. And the whole having to list all the countries he's been to in the last 10 years? He's European for crying out loud! They go to Spain for a week every year and jaunts to France every so often, and of course, coming here. lol. That took a long time to figure out.

Groundhog day! Congrats! (maybe you don't have groundhog day, hehe)

Sounds like I have the pickiest and slowest consulate ever. Plus I talked it over with Kevin last night and he thinks we may as well wait til after Christmas to send packet 3, since we won't have all the papers til then anyway. Probably going to be getting an April or May interview at that rate. Well, I can still hope for a spring wedding, but summer is okay too.

LOL I had to google the groundhog day! That's awesome and cute! Thank you!

Justine, get used to answer the same thing over and over. They might do it on the interview, for safety that the person is telling the truth. Just tell David to keep patience and answer it over and over again. I had this experience when I took my tourist visa, I had a tough interviewer! And although its a totally different kind of visa, that "question repetition" can be expected.

Well I'm impressed, I sent in an online app for my (long form) birth certificate on Monday night, since my parents apparently never got a copy. The site said it would take 3 weeks to process including delivery but I just got it today, less than 3 days later! Sure wish the Americans would get things done that quickly, lol.

Letter from the Embassy arrived today! So it's like the others said and I said earlier, no packet 3 for Brazil, just 4 which is the web links with instructions, and the letter to take at the day with the appointment.

Now I just need to do the medical, get police certificates and print stuff to take as proof along with the others!
