So we sent in the I-130 and received NOA1 on July 15th. After reading a post a few minutes ago I realized that we did not answer part 2 of #22. It clearly states " Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status". Therefore since im not in the US, we didn't complete either part of that question as I thought it didn't apply to us at all. What do we do now? Will this cause delays? do we just wait? Im so upset that we missed this ... i thought we dotted all our "i's" and crossed all "t's" :( Has anyone else done this?

If the beneficary is NOT in USA, you did not have to fill out that part. But you had to fill in the part of where interview will be perfomed at. (Canada) per your profile.

Hi amy83,

I did not answer question #22 as it indicated "Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status".

The second part says "If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for a

visa abroad at the American consular post in"

This second part can someone confirm still apply to relative present in united states but for some reason he/she not eligible to adjust status, they need to indicate alternate consular post.

I hope decision to forward to NVC is not made based on question #22

Anyone did not answer question 22 part 1 and part 2, please share your experience if you received RFE to answer this question or your case was normally approved and forwarded to NVC for consular processing

We messed up question 22 also.

I'm not completely sure what we answered there, but because we failed, CSC never send our papers to NVC after the approval. We had to file An I-824 to get it forwarded. We filed in January and never heard back of them. I hope they will do anything soon, because I'm sick of waiting any longer.

So I Guess worst case would be for you that you approved I130 doesn't get forwarded and you have to file an I924 and pay the fee for having them "release" and sent to NVC.

I hope the best for you!

I also don't think that not filling out question 22 would result in your application not being sent to NVC, that really doesn't make sense.

OP - don't worry about it. If they want you to fill it out then they will send it back to you and ask you to fill it out.

I just realized that on my wifes original G325A we entered her mothers bday as 08-05-1950 and it should have been 08-04-1950 and the I-130 got approved yesterday. Now while we were going through the DS230 form it asks for her bday again, do you think it will be OK if i put the 08-04-1950 and it will be different from the G325?

Yes, I'm confused too. Why would you have to send your spouse's parents' BCs in?

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

no not her mother's birth certificate, her own birth certificate

i was saying they should just put his wife's correct birth date because she will have to send in her birth certificate so it has to be consistent

You got confused bunzarelli, the wifes birthday is correct, her mom's birthday is not. I don't think you'll have a problem because of that, i think they barely look at that stuff. On my co-sponsor form I mistakenly put the year as 2099, and i got approved no problem.
