How can she call me while traveling here?

Naty is flying from Manila to Fort Lauderdale via Guam, Honolulu, Texas, then here. She has a layover in Houston. Do they have calling cards there in the terminal? I do not have a land line so she cannot call me collect. Those cards can be a real pain to use. Any Ideas?

My plan, if she travels alone, is to add a second line to my cell phone plan and ship the phone to her to begin using from Hawaii forward. I also use a phone service where she can call me from anyone's phone at my cost. Feel free to pm me for details.

Yea, I thought about that too. I think its like 214.00 to jump over and back. The money is kind of tight. We have another flight to Syracuse coming up fast for my niece's wedding. I just may do that anyway. Thanks.

I just bought a global sim from Telestial for my upcoming trip. I wanted to make sure I could keep in touch should anything happen. The rates were pretty good as well. As long as she had an unlocked phone you could just buy one from their website and have it sent to her. You can buy the entire unlocked international phone from them for that matter. I bought the Passport card. It will work in 150+ countries.

did she have any of her sim cards on roaming? pretty much what that is, is that she can still get service even in US as long as she activated it 24 h before departure then you can just send her an SMS and i think she can call you too; why not try going to philippines forum to ask others what they had done about communication

You can buy a card from the gas station like an AT&T card and just send her the toll free number and pin before she travels. It'll work from any payphone. Sometimes there are cards in the terminals, or you can dial using your credit card in some although I don't know if she has this. It might be less hassle so she doesn't have to figure it out to just get her enough time on AT&T so she can just locate a phone where she can sit and chat with you for as long as possible. She could also put quarters in the payphone. She'll be fine. Don't worry too much.

Walmart sells ATT cards that work well. I also gave my wife the numbers to the calling card I bought at Narita so she could call from there too.

i flew from Manila to VA via Japan, Atlanta when i got in Atlanta i call my husband collect call through his cellphone it cost $20

If you put credits on her Yahoo Voice then she can call your cellphone.

It has the lowest rates per minute. She needs to be in a net cafe though.

She can also call you using her unlocked cellphone which is on international roaming.

Buy prepaid sim card from a US provider, activate it and send it to her. When she receives it add $20 to it online and when she get to the US she can put it in her unlocked phone and call you.

I use Yahoo voice, if she goes to the net cafe in the airport, she can also sign onto Yahoo and just IM me. I am just not sure if the net cafes are readily accessible in the airport, and if they are, she will be able to use it. Thanks for your suggestion.
