Don't just rock up at the doctor Ken, call them beforehand and tell them that you might have swine flu. You don't want to go to the doctor and sit in the waiting room and get other people sick. The swine flu (or any other flu) can be very dangerous for children up to 24 months, elderly people and people with chronical illnesses.

Get well soon. And you colleagues. And all the other people who caught it off you.

Tomorrow, I'll see my doctor.

I have been in a closed room all day for 1 week on business. Now, 5 or 6 ppl have my cough. This thing is very contagious.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Some sort of flu did the rounds of my office a few weeks back - I wasn't right for 3 weeks either, had a non-stop cough that took ages to go away.

Looks like you also became a pig, Pike.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

My whole family has had it since Friday. Sucks a lot, but we seem to be over the hump. Incredibly contagious. I was in my son's presence, no closer than 15 feet away for 30 minutes and I caught it. My daughter caught it somewhere else. My wife's fate was sealed when I caught it.

Our little boy's been sick now for a few days, fever and runny nose and now I'm not feeling well. I think some people at the office that have been ill. Somethings going around here in So. Cal. Maybe the strange weather we've been having has something to do with it. It's already feeling like fall is around the corner but it's not even August.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Yeah weather patterns are insane right now. Extreme heat Northwest and Northeast...

Hope the little guy topples that flu soon!

It was actually a bit nippy outside the last couple of nights by about 9pm.

Thanks, Hal. Just pushing the fluids and trying to get him to rest as much as possible.

I got all the regular flu stuff - headaches, fever etc - but the main thing for me was the cough - there was a period of about 3 days where I was coughing non-stop.

We were actually worried about making our vacation - as my sister in law had just had a baby, and we didn't want to risk giving flu to a newborn.

The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Some people with swine flu also have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

.....

Human-to-human transmission of swine flu can also occur. This is thought to occur in the same way as seasonal flu occurs in people, which is mainly person-to-person transmission through coughing or sneezing of people infected with the influenza virus. People may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.

Wife's mom wanted us to fly down to Colombia for a nieces wedding. Would have to leave tomorrow. Not very much notice, airline rates are really high right now, would have cost us about 3,000 bucks for less than a week, but wife couldn't get off work. As much as I like going down there, was a sight of relief. Hate traveling via the airlines. To save on fuel, they are not bringing in the fresh air like they use to, but using recir mode, pilot has full control over that, and if you have just one ill person in the plane of around 250 people, can infect the lot of them with a contagious virus, and not necessarily on your flight, could be from the flights before you.

I picked up some weird virus on a flight to Orlando that lasted two months, yes I saw my doctor, several times, not a damn thing that can do about it just like the common cold. And cold has nothing to do with getting a cold, it's a virus, about 256 different ones, but your body should develop an immunity to each one. Not only airborne, but from direct contact, keep your hands away from your mouth and pass on a drink if you see the flight attendant holding that plastic cup at the lip that will touch your lips.

Wife wears what I call a blue mask at her work in the hospital, suppose to filter out those viruses. Plus frequent washing of your hands, but may not do any good in the way over jammed confined spaces in an airliner.

Consumers Report had an article in this subject some time ago, where an airliner is one of the most contagious places on earth, besides all the other BS one has to go through with airline travel, getting deathly ill is another one added to the list to save a couple of bucks. But you sure don't see it on the fare rates.
