Hi All,

Today we went to Cincinnati for our AOS interview. We got lost and reached 5 mins earlier.

The officer came and got me inside rather than taking my wife along with me. Inside he asked me take the vow and then started going through the G-325a and I-485. He started out with confirming the information on my G-325A:

- My name and date of birth;

-My Wife`s date of birth

- Our Marriage date

Then he asked the questions from I-485, to all of which I said "no" (criminal past, affiliation with the Communist Party etc...)

Then he asked my husband how we met and how did the things mature. Despite the 25 yrs age difference he didnt ask anything and only asked if we have plans to have babies in future. He then asked some other questions about my profession, my wife`s profession, how many pets we had etc etc.

He then left to bring my wife in and asked a few questions like how many times she has been married and how many children she has. He also asked her same questions he has asked me , like how many pets , birthdays etc etc.

He said everything looks ok and is there anything i want to add to the file. SO i gave in :

a) Handed him over a load of pictures of which he chose a few to keep

B) Joint tax filing - which he photocopied

c) Joint buying of puppy

d) Joint Scottrade accounnt - which he photocopied

e)Joint back account statements

f) YMCA joint account recent statement

He took off the I-94 from my passport. Didnt scratch my multientry visa, as it has already expired. Was going to take away my EAD card but told me to keep it as its valid a year and as I have a job interview coming along. Told me once I get the GC the EAD card wont be valid anyway.

My Wife asked if he is entitled to say whether we are approved or not , he said they are only only entitled to send letters and not say it . Also upon pushing a bit he said it can takes months max and weeks min to get the GC. He explained on approval, I`m getting a 2-year green card and how and when to apply for a permanent one. ALso we may not need a interview while removing conditions based on our papers.

He also stated that he has to go through the application and see wther wverything is in place or not and whether the background check is over or not. I asked whether the background check report has come or not and he said well, he thinks its has come but he has to see.

We thanked him and came out. It took like 20-25 mins. Very professional and well mannered man - we were really lucky.

My wife thinks everything looks great but I am no clue whether we are approved or not. Any idea ? All advice and comments are most appreciated.

Thanks.

N.B. - my wifes income from like 22 of 1040 was below the poverty line. So as per members of VJ we took consponsor docs but the IO said that she is approved and dnt need any cosponsor . As she runs a small business and writes off the expenses from the total, and thats why the amount gets low. Otherwise she earns much over. So just wanted to mention as this varifes from case to case.

You sure are approved! party0039.gif

They could`ve made it easier if the IO had told you you were approved... but I guess that`s how it works... Although our IO told us :"I guess we`re looking at an approval here" and then started talking about a 2 year green card and said that we would be getting it in a couple of weeks, a month max.

You`re approved!!! Congrats!!! jumping0045.gif

Keep an eye on CRIS updates. I just got an email saying Card Production Ordered.

I understand your doubts... But, Don`t worry!!! You`ll be getting the card soon!

oh... well, if you can`t add your I-485 to your USCIS account, then you most certainly won`t be getting any emails from them :))) But there`s nothing to worry about. I couldn`t see our I-130 online either... never heard anything about it from USCIS (besides a NOA1), not even at the interview. but everything turned out ok.

So, Everything is fine!!! don`t try to fry your brains over it. Just give it ... let`s say... 10-12 days. Within that time frame you should get your Welcome letter. I`ll let you know when I receive mine, so you could have a reference point, ok? :energy:

Came back after a date night and saw the online status says card says card production ordered. wow ....thank God ............ and all the members of VJ who helped me all along Saspak, Septembergold, EtherealVocalist, igomo, Cécy, ELW, pushbrk , Singers, YuAndDan, emt103c, Kathryn41 & others .

To Septembergold :

The I-130 status says

"Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: Case received and pending"

The I-485 status says :

"Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Card production ordered."

Is this normal ? Means if the I-485 is approved, does the I-130 gets approved automatically ? So i dnt need to be worried about I-130 status ??

Let me know .......... I am a bit worried but 99% joyous !! :P:P:P
