Well yesterday after going to the office 3 times I finally got my SSN. I visited the office on Tuesday and was told I was still not in the save system however I have waited long enough and they will make a further inquiry. The lady told me she would call me when a number was issued to come pick it up and then the card would be mailed 2 weeks later.

I was thinking "oh great here goes another 3-4 weeks of waiting" Well to my surprise, she called yesterday and told me to come get my number!!! So now I'm thinking "if she could get results with one phone call, why don't they just make the phone call the first time you go in???"

I wanted to thank everyone here for helping me out with all my questions and concerns.

On to the next step in this crazy journey........AOS!!!!! (i know i should have applied a while ago but it's taking awhile to get all the documents together)

Good luck to everyone else with a speedy EAD/SSN!

Oct. 12 2005 Applied for K3 (Day 1)

Jan. 9th 2006 Received packet 3 (Day 89)

Can K-3's apply for EAD without applying for AOS at the same time? I was not aware that this was possible.

Just curious.

Congratulations.

Yes, K-3 can apply without doing an AOS. In some ways it is better, because your EAD card will not expire until the K-3 visa expires. I wish I knew this information before I sent in my wife's paperwork. :(

Removal of Conditions (I-751)

August 22/08: check cashed (certainly did not waste any time)

September 11/08: Received NOA 1

September 15/08: Rec'd Biometrics Appointment Letter

October 02/08: Biometrics Completed

Yes you can get your EAD before applying for the AOS. My EAD expires on April 21st 2008, the same time my K3 expires.

Felshan, you applied for your EAD and AOS at the same time. I haven't applied for my AOS yet.
