Thanks a lot. I will be updating my timeline as to the date of my oath-taking and as I've said, thanks to all the members who took the time to answer my concerns and questions about Naturalization issues and I sure did gain a lot of insights from here, even not-so-good posts in response to my once-stolen wallet that I recovered two days after. But yes, I'm glad that part's over.

Nice to know you made a good swift finished on your interview. :thumbs: Same as with you, not really on rush about the certificate and I don't want to get that hassle too, changing my middle name on all id's, even in my marriage cert. Did you IO says the judicial is a private affair only???

My IO got in touch with me, and said they are only waiting for the email response about the 2 applications filed into my account. This what happened:

I sent my application in Texas Center, she said "maybe" the IO in texas accept my package and encoded in system they received my application. I didn't know that time on last August that Texas we're in backlog so they won't accept N400 anymore instead send it to Vermont. So the USPS send me email that, Texas resend the package to them to pass on different address which is the Vermont. So Vermont put in the system they received my application...and that's how I got 2 N400 application on my name and Alien#...

But since I am waiting for the clearance of the issue, she asked me to give her 30 days for that. Told her, since I am waiting for it, might as well as do the Judicial Oath instead. Then she asked me when I am going back to US and told her I'll be away whole January. So she post-it a Feb.01 availability for Oath..

I guess its a case to case basis about this "middle name" issue in Immigration. It really depends how accommodating the IO to the applicant. Because my sister-inlaw a filipina too been asked what name she wants to put in the Certificate and she said what she want and the IO didn't mind bringing up such issue.

I never been asked, instead she erased my middle name on the application and right down my mother's last name, that she said my middle name in my birth Certificate. :blush: then the issue was open up...

Hope we have both a private Judicial Oath next year!! .. would be great doing so with our beloved family. The Oath in ATL last Monday was jam-packed , all relatives we're squeezed and standing in the back-row of the conference.

There were things that I should have asked the IO while I was there but only remembered when I was outside the facility, and yes, that's one of my questions. I wonder if some Filipinas here attended that kind of ceremony and if it also includes some other nationalities, hmmmm.

She did not ask me either. She looked at my BC and just crossed out my legal middle name now and change it to my single middle name. Then explained to me how naming system works.

Ditto on that. Yeah, from the number of people I saw last Tuesday, accomodation is sort of unbelievable for the ceremony, might end up like canned sardines ;)

Thanks! I am bound to go back home this New Year's Celebration with my whole family in the Phils. We usually celebrate new year's eve together all clans. Me & my son we're off after X'mas holidays.

I was 3 days away for Disney World trip last Dec.10-12 and my husband received a personal call from my Immigration Officer who interviewed me. Requesting for me to gave her a call and make an appointment to visit her, she wants to talk to me about the judicial private oath schedule and will arrange if it's gonna suit for me after I came back to US from my 5 weeks vacation in Manila.

Hi all,

well my citizenship interview is coming up..its this Wednesday =/

I have a question about the civics test and those 10 questions that they ask..

one thing i don't get is that some questions have multiple answers...for example " what are the TWO rights in the declaration of independence? than they give you 3 choices and of course we pick only two .. its clear..

but what about if they are not clear......for example: What is the rule of law? than they give you 4 different answers ..do you only pick one or do you have to answer all of them ? like this....

ex:

What is the rule of law?

* everyone must follow the law

*leaders must obey the law

*government must obey the law

*no one if above the law

also in some questions they have answers that have the exact meaning but, its just states differently, ex: ( Why do some states have more represntatices than other states? 1. because of states population -- 2. because they have more people...3. some states have more people...im sure that if they have the same meaning..why would i have to answer all of them haha ...=) but in some questions the answers do not have the same meaning..so i dont know if i have to pick one ..or all of them ..i really do not want to fail this haha and have to wait 60-90 days more =/

if somebody knows something about this i would appreciate if you could share your exp. thanks a lot =))))))))

In the example you give, you just pick one answer. The question will say if more than one answer is required. Name 3 of the original 13 colonies as an example, otherwise it is just one of the possible answers they give.

Good luck, it is quite straightforward, just keep the answers simple.
